No Longer in Business
Posted by anoninla on 11/07/2008
Buffet City is no longer in business. I went there today (November 8, 2008) and the doors are locked, the furniture inside is gone, and there is a "For Lease" sign in the window.

Disgusting food, rude management and service, don't waste your money.
Posted by surreal28 on 09/09/2008
I went on a Friday night for the seafood buffet dinner, and there's a reason the place was empty. The food was horrible. The sushi was not fresh and of the 4 rolls they had, 3 of them were variations of a CA roll. They did have a lot of seafood - crab legs, squid, oysters, salmon, but I didn't think anything was good - not fresh, a lot of oil, overcooked. I was really disappointed. Plus, the service was poor and the hostess and manager were extremely rude. Save your money - there are so many other great places to eat on the Westside.

A family favorite
Posted by gromitzzz on 01/14/2008
When the family is really hungry, or when we have lots of people to please, this is our first choice. They have a HUGE selection of food (sushi, mongolian grill, chinese, italian, american) plus lots of salad and desserts. The presentation is wonderful and the food trays never seem to go empty. The staff are gracious. Prices are reasonable esp. when you go in and avail of the seafood special.

chinese buffet all you can eat
Posted by manuella on 11/29/2007
this is a great place to go if you like all you can eat buffets. It offers a huge variety of dishes of both Chinese and Japanese food. They also offer sushi and sushi rolls. The have parking underground and are open all day. The prices are very reasonable and the service is good. It can get busy but you are always seated quickly. It is also a good place to go if you are part of a large group.

Rude New Management -- AVOID -- and beware FAKE POSTS below
Posted by cuddly_penguin on 11/17/2007
Ok, so, one way to see if glittering, surreally positive reviews are legit is to see if those folks have only posted once. If so, it's a good bet that it's a fake profile set up. Don't let the good (fake) reviews below fool you.
This USED to a great Chinese place in the area. Not only did they offer a buffet, they also had an a-la-carte menu for take-out/delivery that provided a tasty alternative (We always opted for a-la-carte over the menu because that way we knew we were getting fresh dishes...the one time we tried the buffet, much of the food had clearly been sitting out for way too long and was rubbery/congealed + too greasy). Been ordering/going there since summer '04 -- three and half years.
Unfortunately, as of a few months ago they got a new manager who has, sadly, ruined the place. GONE is our friendly neighborhood favorite hangout. It's been replaced by a new, shockingly rude manager that has eliminated the a-la-carte menu and enforced a buffet-only policy. When we asked what had happened to the a-la-carte menu (and could we order off of it anyway, perhaps?), we were given such a shockingly rude response that I don't think I can write it here in Citysearch!!! The funny thing is, we actually might have stayed to eat at the buffet had the manager not been so rude and lacking in basic customer service skills. What a shame!

Ew gross!

They used to have really good food. Now this place is just disgusting, dirty, and not fresh at all. Go anywhere else but here. Even Panda Express is a million times better and fresher.

Wear sweatpants...

Cuz your jeans are gonna feel mighty tight. I'm a big fan of kitchen sink Chinese buffets and this is one of the best I've tried. The sushi is surprisingly fresh, and the korean style spare ribs are nice and juicy. Some of the seafood dishes didn't look particularly appealing but that's to be expected. Also, there ain't much here for vegetarians, but who cares right? Come hungry, leave happy.
