Great Dinner and a Movie
Posted by andyok on 10/06/2008
Nice beer selection. Food was very so and so. Not fresh, probably frozen, and heated. Loved the idea, the beer list, and had a great time altogether. One thing I could not get passed, (I know the place is somewhat ancient) the fact that it felt dirty. The tables were pretty sticky, and we had a clean one. Poor quality screen(everyone needs to know this; i was expecting to see Batman in normal/good quality, not bootleg quality.)Smelled like my grandmas house, old. Dont get me wrong, I had a great time, and food was average, just couldnt get passed the stench and stickyness. If you go, you'll see, and you'll be right back on here agreeing with me lol.

Two thumbs up!

Originally hailing from Austin, The Alamo Drafthouse West Oaks was a refreshing discovery. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. From the fried pickles and milk shakes to the colorful array of films, you will not be displeased. But, patrons, keep in mind that this tends to be a more artistic venue--so enter with open minds.

There is somewhere better!

Check out the studio movie grill in copperfield its cheaper, more family oriented, and more socialy responsible.
In Sept 2006 Alamo DraftHouse chose to show a film depicting people taking their own lives. When I emailed them my concerns about those that may be contimplating suicide and may attend this showing having their thoughts realized may convince them to go through with what otherwise was just a thought. I was told it was "artistic". I call it socially irresponsible! I will no longer support this establishment and hope that you will reconsider your choice of venues.

Watch a Movie and Have a Beer
Posted by stimpy1cat on 02/11/2006
I love watching movies here. Where else can you have some drinks, real food, and watch a movie on a big screen. The seating isn't stadium style, but replaced everyother row with a table. The other bonus is that you get away from the crowded megaplexes and hordes of teenagers. They show the usual fair of new releases and replay some wacky older films, which are sometimes paired with a theme, like sushi and a karate flick. The only drawback to this place is that it's located in West Oaks Mall.

Great place away from teens

I love the Alamo draft house. Even though the seats are old style, the place is awesome. The staff is helpful and the movies look good even on the old screens. The food and beer selection is excellent. You pay before the movie even ends, so you can get up and leave as soon as the movie is over. It can get busy in the weekend evenings, so get there early for a good seats!
