Don't have too much fun! (You'll get kicked out)

    Posted by tallchick80 on 04/18/2009

I remember when Caldonia's used to have wet t-shirt contests and was a real party place, well, those days are GONE. I went with a group of friends to Caldonia's last night, and we were all having a great time! We were talking and laughing with the people sitting around us, ordering big fruity drinks and having a blast....until the waitress came over and told us we needed to keep it down, "These drinks come with the condition that you need to keep it down." We were all absolutely floored and felt like children who just got scolded by a parent. That encounter immediately put the kibosh on the fun we were having and we felt like jerks. We looked around to figure out what members of their clientele may have had an issue; we thought maybe the thugs with the gold chains probably aren't into a party atmosphere place so much, and maybe they complained, or maybe it was the wild haired goths playing cards in SILENCE who didn't appreciate our jovial time. At that point it didn't matter, the fun had been taken away and we got to see Caldonia's for what it really is: a trashy bar for losers. We all realized that Caldonia's, the one-time King Supreme of party bars in Denver had become another useless, trashy Aurora bar, full of the kind of people who sullied the name of the Aurora in the first place. The thrill was gone, the people jaded, and the party was definitely over! Caldonia's is now the King-Supreme of the typical, undesirable white trash mecca Aurora bar. As we left Caldonia's, smiling at the police officer standing at the door (you know, because all quality bars have police officers there, right??) we realized that those idiots just gave up a table full of paying, high quality clientele and resigned their bar to the thugs, goths, and consummate losers Aurora has to offer. I'm planning on never returning to Caldonia's, and suggest you do the same.

    Happy Hour!

    Posted by berightthere on 10/06/2008

I love the patio in the summer and the happy hour drink specials are great! the live music selections this year were bomb. The waitstaff is usually working pretty hard, but can sometimes get sidetracked. One of the bartenders is an absolute D@#$, he should get a clue. The food is good. The pork sliders are right on time for something small.

Good atmosphere, food, and excellent service

Caldonia's is by far the best restaurant of any kind we've found in Aurora, although that isn't very informative since Aurora is pretty much a mediocre fast food/chinese buffet hell. The baskets are just enough food if you're a bit hungry but don't want to get stuffed, and the platters are sufficient for you to eat now and save some for a great second meal later. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and I have found every server to be genuinely friendly, courteous and professional every time I've gone there. The service is timely enough, but the place is so relaxing and enjoyable that it really wouldn't matter much if it took a while longer. Sit out on the deck with friends or a spouse and while the time away with good beer and BBQ.

    FRIED OKRA!

    Posted by kristie78 on 10/22/2007

Seriously, the drinks are huge, the food is great. Do yourself a favor and go. During the months and months of patio weather that Denver has to offer, there is no better spot. This place is perfect for large groups and heavy drinkers. I particularly enjoy the fried okra. It's just good.

    Try the Fried Dills!

    Posted by ktuck2112 on 07/05/2006

Caledonia's is a great summer spot. From the huge patio, outdoor volleyball court and large drinks (when they say it is served in a fish bowl, it really is!) The food is also great. Try the fried dills if you are looking for something light to snack on.

    Partied like a rockstar

Went in for a cold beer on a Thursday and stayed all night. Stumbled into a live trivia game. Never seen so many people having so much fun in a "were all in this to drink together" atmosphere. Awesome ribs too.

    Fun on the deck

    Posted by decodoggy on 08/08/2002

Caldonia's is the best place to go with a group of friends after work on a Friday. Sit on the large deck with a crowd of fun-loving people waiting for the band to start. Good BBQ too.
