What makes it unique or special? Their pork with garlic spinich and provolone!! I get it every time I go there. No one can beat it, and I love that you can order half a sandwich since I don't have the room or time to eat a whole one. (Plus, it leaves room for their french fries) I don't normally order fries, but I can't pass up Jake's fries!

Great Cheeseteaks

I have never been able to eat a full cheesesteak unless I was pregnant so I am glad that Jake's has the option of a 6 inch cheesesteak. The steaks are not oily at all but they are sooooo juicy and delicious. The fries are awesome! The fries are perfectly seasoned so I don't have to add anything I just start eating. The combos are very reasonable and they have a nice variety of cheeses and other toppings.

I LOVE JAKE'S CHICKEN CHEESESTEAKS! They marinate the chicken and the end result is DELICIOUS!! I also like that I can order a half steak instead of a whole steak. Keep up the good work!

I haven't had their regular steaks but if you're looking for a good chicken cheesesteak this is the place to go. The sign there says they marinate the chicken which is what makes it so good. Whatever they do, it is a noticeable difference from the rest of the chicken steaks in this city. As a Philly native I would never usually go for a Chicken steak over a real Cheesesteak but Jake's has sold me on the idea of the chicken cheesesteak. The meat is flavorful, tender and juicy and they let you choose what kind of roll you want it on. The only drawback would be that it's priced 1 or 2 dollars over some of the other cheesteaks in Philly but the prices at Jake's are on par with the rest of the prices in center city Philly eateries. I'm sure its location in rent-heavy liberty place doesn't help the price either. Anyone who works downtown will tell you, to expect to spend at leat $8 on lunch no matter where you go.
Go get a chicken cheestesteak today for lunch. You wont regret it.

Great taste and the best quality you will find in Philly. They take a few extra seconds but the end result is worth it. They will take the time to make it just right , so order exactly waht you want and you will be surprised. I am a local and find it great for lunch.

Jakes offered the best ingredients and selection of toppings (aside from a few-most toppings are at no additional charge). The chicken cheese steak sandwich, my absolute FAVE, is NEVER dry or skimpy, i order it on the round onion roll which adds even more layers of flavor (they also offer a selection of rolls). Don't know how long the chicken is marinated for, but the results are worth the buy. The buffalo chicken sandwich is also a must have. Best lunch buy in Philly so far. The staff, are awesome, they offer great suggestions and superior service.

Best Philly steak I have ever had

About 6 months ago I found this great steak sandwich place at Liberty Place. The steak sandwiches and meatball hoagies are great. The bread always seems to be fresh and the meat seems to be a higher quality compared to other similar establishments. This place is a must try!!
Prices are reasonable and the choice of toppings are also great.

Worth the trip

I'm not a local, so I won't pretend to claim that I know everything about a cheesesteak sandwich (though I have enjoyed them from BillyBob's to Pat's....), but I can say that Jake's knows what it is doing. True, the ambience in a food court isn't perfect, but the food is fresh, the service friendly, the sandwiches a great blend of standards and some novel treats, and the pricing very reasonable.
Very much worth a try if you haven't already.

Best Steaks in Center City!

Finally, I found a great steak in Center City. I have tried them all and thought it was impossible, until I found Jake?s. Their steaks taste awesome! You also have the option of buying half a steak or chicken steak sandwich which I never found anywhere else. Jake?s is very organized and clean which is a plus to me along with their friendly staff. They also have daily specials and even nutritional information. Great tasting steaks that are well worth the price!
