Owner could use some manners
Posted by writeon1 on 03/23/2009
This is just another greasy spoon, teaming with greasy spoons. Yes, they have a passable Greek salad, but to call this a Greek restaurant is plain misleading. The standard fare is burgers, club sandwiches, fries...with a few Americanized Greek "specialties" thrown in. We went there from time to time for a quick, cheap bite but honestly, I'm sick of sitting and looking at fat, sexist, Greek mafiosos smoke and drink and preside over the waitresses. Pete is just a scowling misogynist and after the treatment I receieved from him last night, I won't be returning.

Food made us sick
Posted by edarnell on 03/01/2008
My dad and I both got very sick eating here in the fall of 2007. When I called to tell them so that they could hopefully spare others of our misery the waitress was very rude and hung up on me. I submitted negative feedback on their website which caused a manager / owner to call me and apologize. He was very nice and offered my dad and I a free lunch, which I obviously turned down - that type of food born illness is not something I'll risk repeating.

Hideous Beyond Imagining
Posted by chris_al on 01/11/2008
The tzatziki was sour cream with cucumber in it. The moussaka had what I honestly believe was Chef Boyardee meat in it, and was topped with some kind of horrible nutmeg custard (ostensibly Bechamel). A thin slice of soggy eggplant was placed between the two other toxic components. The vegetable sides were obviously frozen, and my soup was from a can.
This is honestly some of the worst, if not THE worst, food I have had in my life.
The service was quick and friendly - though receiving tripe promptly does not change the fact that it's tripe.

Our Go-To place for take out!
Posted by apples41 on 09/12/2007
If someone had ever pointed out Pete's Greek Town Cafe and told me that I would order take out from there once a week, I would have NEVER believed them. The place scared me at first, but I"m glad I got over myself :). They have the best Greek Salad in Denver, always super fresh, and they are always friendly. We're never disappointed.

Helloooo!!!!!!!!! Larryyyyyy!!!!!!!!!2439!!!!!!!!!!!

I' ve been going to Greek town for years. I enjoy the food there very much. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, and usually for lunch I have the mushroom burger. The quality of the meat is the best, and as I was informed from the server they only serve Black Agnus beef. You are complaining about the temperature and then in your "PROS" you say "is good temperature" get your story straight Larry boy.
You also complain about the bun being soggy! You should know when you are taking food to go it won't be 100% as good as if you eat it in the restaurant, you have to consider how long time is in the box, the steam from hot food in an enclosed box in addition to the juices from the burger would cause the bun to be moist . So next time just go to Mac's House and enjoy clogging your arteries up. You sure have the taste for good food.

Avoid take out food!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went because had been to the restaurant before (dining in house) and thought that the food would be as good for Take-Out. Hello! ... the temp. for the burgers wasn't correct and the lower half of the bun was so wet of grease ( as if drop in the fryer ) had to use a slice of bread to complete the bun. After cooking the burger in the microwave (not the best way to cook meat ... but with the heat at 95 degrees ) just wish that I had gone to Mac"s house instead of paying $22.10 for two burgers and a beer while I waited. Let's not forget the $3.00 tip for the wait staff that didn't offer me water when I had finished my beer and had to wait yet another 12 minutes.

Average joint.

Anyone who still thinks Gyro is authentic Greek food is a fool. Gyro is about as authentic as a taco is to Mexico or pizza is to Italy. It just isn't anymore. The Greek Salad is alright. Average place. Opah!

All my favorite Greek dishes! And great prime rib.

I love this restaurant. I come from NJ and know Greek diners. I had to go into NY to get food like this! It's a little funky, needs new seats, but the Greek salad is to die for. Their prime rib is really good when they have it. Great traditional food. The prices aren't cheap, but has good sized servings. There are a lot of neighborhood characters who are patrons. Fun atmosphere, with alcohol, newspapers and parking! No rush either. Opah!
