    Exceptional

    The Feeling of Home

    Posted by khquinones on 04/02/2008

The St. Gregory Luxury Hotel & Suites in Washington, DC is a good substitute for "home." The property is exceptionally clean, the decor is absolutely beautiful and the staff is wonderful. I have stayed at the St. Gregory many times and I have always had a wonderful experience. The beds are comfortable and the atmosphere in the rooms is very relaxing. When you arrive at your room there's soft classical music playing waiting to greet you and from the minute you step in, you feel relaxed and peaceful. The hotel management is always around to say hello and make sure that your stay is problem-free. The St. Gregory has everything you need in the room but if you forget something and it's not already there, the front desk is always very pleased to assist you in everyway. 21M and the M Street Bar & Grill are not the common places for food and drink; there is a special aura to both of them. The food is great, service is exceptional and the ambiance can't be beat. This property is also a wonderful place for business functions and personal events. Once you "Come Home" To The St. Gregory - you will keep coming back.

    Good

    Amazing value

Posted by Taq S. on 08/17/2005

The St. Gregory Hotel is an amazing bargain, rivaling high-end chain hotels for more than half the price. Although the rooms are quite small, they are decorated nicely with warm, soothing colors, unlike some bland chain hotels (e.g. Marriot). Rooms were fully furnished, with many extras like a CD stereo and refrigerator. The beds, while comfortable, are not up to par high-end chain hotels, but for the price the beds are more than acceptable. The rooms were well maintained, with furniture showing minimal use. Staff was helpful, and housekeeping was above average. Typical of hotels, the walls did not provide complete sound isolation, but it was not much of an issue. Thankfully, doors are padded to prevent the obnoxious slamming that plagues most hotels.Note -- be careful about mini-bar/food charges. A price list does not accompany the food. The hotel offers a broadband internet connection, but it was not working during my stay in August.

    Not Recommended

Price is right, but hidden charges are not

Posted by Nick E. on 08/17/2005

I recently travelled to DC and picked the cheapest hotel I could find inside the District (and relatively close to a Metro stop). The St Gregory was it. For only $107 a night after taxes, it went beyond my expectations in terms of comfort. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom very spacious. There is a small "mini bar" on one of the tables. There wasn't a card that said these items were not included in the charge of the hotel. I was billed for these items, and the hotel refused to acknowledge that a price list was not in the room. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card.
