Best place around Raleigh for Car Tinting

    Posted by Love2shop on 10/13/2009

I have tried some of the other smaller tint shops in Raleigh before and had heard good things about FormulaOne so I had to check them out after getting my new 2010 Ford Taurus. I must say my experience there was so much better than all the other places I had tried. I had no idea that there were so many different films and that each type of film served different purposes. I was able to choose the film that best fit my budget and still get a lifetime warranty on the film and the installation. Visit their shop and talk to Rikki, you will see for yourself the difference and you will definitely want to let these guys do your tint work.

My car looks great and its comfortable also,

Just had my Audi A4 done by the Raleigh Location and Rich and Rikki did an amazing job. They took the time to educate me on what to expect out of a good tint job and they delivered. They used a special computer cutter to cut the film and the edges look great and the back window was done in one piece. I chose the Pinnacle series because of the type of car I drive and the fact that it does not interfere with the electronics in my glass. Take my word. you do not want to take your car anywhere else to get tinted.

Don't waste your time. Rude and overpriced.

Unfortunately my experience at FO was a huge disappointment: - When I arrived, I was told I didn't have an appointment (in a very discourteous way). I received no apology or even slight attempt to remedy a mistake on FO's part. -I was offered a quick estimate but when the attendant walked outside with me to look at my car (a compact vehicle which simply needed the back window tint replaced) I was asked (once again in very discourteous way) "What's wrong with it?" If he had inspected it before asking me that he would have seen for himself. Isn't that what supposedly "Experts at window tinting" would know? -Finally, my quote from him was "139.00" For ONE window? hard to trust when his complete inspection was sticking his head in my car from the front seat for 5 seconds and then reading it with a meter. I had the whole vehicle tinted with highest quality LLUMAR, by a very reputable company in Hollywood, FL for $170.00 and the damage on the window was actually my fault. I know I could return to Brian's Window Tinting (which my entire family in FL has used for 10 years and they would replace it at no cost because of the lifetime warantee - but I really don't care to drive 700+ miles for it. - Bottom line -FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE. (Unless you're partial to receiving bad customer service and getting ripped off.)

    Rebuttle from owner of FormulaOne

    Posted by kgarwood2 on 11/25/2007

One customer in 17 years I don't think makes us the worst tint shop in town. I tried everything possible to make this right with the customer including telling the Judge, "if you think this is something we should pay for, I will pay for it right now". The fact is the Judge said there was no evidence of liability caused by our staff. I even use video recorders to protect our customers and their valuables to make sure our customers have no reason what so ever, not to trust us with their vehicles. Our staff is young. Every tint shop in the country is made up of young men and women in their 20's. I can't do anything about that. If you are considering using our services and would like to talk to me personally. Call me on my cell phone at 919-524-0516. Keith Garwood

    Good

    Not recommended! Very expensive mistake!

What should have been a simple tint job turned into an absolute nightmare! Staff seemed professional enough at first aside from being relatively young. I picked the car up 2 hours later, and the car was undriveable due to the clutch being broken. I immediately notified the technicians and found out there was no manager on duty. So great, a bunch of kids left alone with my expensive Audi for 2 hours! The staff immediately denied any kind of responsibility as well as the owner. Basically placing all blame on me. I attempted to resolve the matter with the owner to settle the damages who at that point did not want to have anything to do with it. I end up having to take them to small claims court where I LOST due to lack of evidence, so more time and money down the tubes! In summary, DO NOT trust this shop with your expensive automobile, especially any kind of high end vehicle. I have already contacted a friend at Leith who had used them for factory tint as well as the Better Bus. Buruea. Hopefully even though I've lost a ton of money on damages to my car I can at least protect any other consumers from the same experience. All of this could have been avoided if they had just owned that they damaged the car. Now they're going to lose 10 times the amount the damages to my car were due to bad publicity. BAD BUSINESS! They'll be out of it soon enough though I'm sure!
