Rehearsal Dinner
Posted by mikiej52 on 04/06/2009
I went to a rehearsal dinner there this past Friday night and the food was wonderful. My rib eye steak was cooked medium rare and was seasoned perfectly. Our water glasses never got past half empty before someone was filling them.
The tiramisu desert wa delightful and the crunchy bits of shaved chocolate on top were a nice addition.
I would recommend this place, however I am not sure about the prices as I was a guest at this dinner.

Bland, cheap food!
Posted by bbb684 on 10/01/2007
The food, the wait staff is all second-rate at best. The sauces tasted canned and bland, no flavor. The food was of sub-standard quality. My waiter forget my salad and appetizers. I will never return to Dianne?s is a insult to Italian food and fine dining

Terrible
Posted by napadream on 09/30/2007
Our waitress was rude and completely inattentive throughout our entire meal. Also, there is no way anyone can possibly call this Italian food. The appetizer was an atrocity; this restaurant must be using the lowest quality ingredients available. The rolls were undercooked. My wife ordered club soda and the waitress kept bringing tonic, finally the waitress told my wife that tonic and club soda was the same thing!!!! The Caprese salad was bad, the tomatoes were hard and not even close to ripe. My spouse?s pasta was so overcooked it was mush. The sauce tasted like canned tomatoes, with no flavor. I ordered my steak rare, it came out like a hockey puck, it was so well it was almost black on the inside, literally. Even the waitress commented when she handed it to me that it looked like a charred pancake!! Maybe this establishment was having an off night but we will never return. There are other choices in the Columbia region that are far superior like MoMos on Devine.

Overated
Posted by mike.randall on 01/29/2007
Price is higher than the quality of food and service deserves. Smokey in some areas of the restaurant. Decor is dated and there are many venues available in Columbia that exceed the value of this establishment.

GREAT AMBIANCE, GOOD FOOD, GREAT SERVICE
Posted by rockviking on 12/31/2006
This restaurant is wonderful. When you walk in you are usually greeted by Dianne herself. She has a warm smile and a look of Elizabeth Taylor 20 years ago. The decor of the restaurant is classically tasteful, with warm light that provides a mood for private conversation. The wine list is good. The food is wonderful from start to finish and the greatest thing is that unlike most upscale restaurants, Dianne's gives you so much food that unless you are a NFL football player, you will need a take away box. Dessert and after dinner drinks top off a wonderful evening. While Dianne is waiting at the door with your coat and a warm smile, the valet is off to get your car. Best restaurant in Columbia.

Nice Ambience, Mediocre Food.
Posted by neddie999 on 04/08/2005
The ambience is nice, but if you are looking for a tasty meal, look elsewhere. I've been to Dianne's twice now with a party of 4 and 6. Everyone was unanimous in their opinion of the quality of the food. Something was seriously off in the flavor and preparation in most everyone's dish. The filet was decent, however, but avoid the pastas.
