Great Sushi!
Posted by IrishTemper on 02/18/2009
I have been eating at and ordering take out from Teriyaki House for the past 4 years. I think the food is very tasty and reasonably priced.
The lunch specials are great and very affordable. I love their sushi and if you want, you can have brown rice for $1.00/ roll. Also, try the Chicken soup! it takes like the soup mom made for you when you were sick. You get enough to feed 2 or 3 people and it is less than $4.00.

Good food--when they listen to you
Posted by jsouthie on 11/30/2007
I have been a regular customer for the past three months and have enjoyed your food and have recommended their establishment to others. But the past few times my order has been delievered incorrectly. When I called to ask how to resolve this so that the order I make is actually the order I get the woman argued with me telling me that I didn't order what I said that I did and that Teriyaki House wasn't wrong. I tried to explain what I indeed wanted but the woman would talk over me and wasn't even listening. I'm VERY disappointed and upset that this would be what they call customer service and after contacting the manger and not having any response-am led to believe that's what they support from their employees

Horrible Service
Posted by sabrina_j on 04/14/2007
The first time I ordered from TH, I got the szechuan chicken & veggie roll + spicy mayo sauce. They forgot my spicy mayo sauce. It cost extra ($0.75) & they charged me for it but didn't give it to me. I called the restaurant back and the man told me he posted $1.50 credit on my account to use the next time I order from there. I was disappointed that I had to eat my sushi without the sauce, but I understood and it was all fine and dandy.
Until the next time I ordered from there. I told them that I had $1.50 credit from last time and he seemed confused, but then said he would give it to me. 1 hr later, my food arrived and the delivery guy kept calling the wrong #. I didn't even know he was outside my building until I saw him leave through my window. I called them & they said they would contact the driver, and put me on hold. After I had been on hold for over 5 minutes, I hung up & called again. I called about 8-9 times and no one was answering the phone. Finally when I got through they said it'll be another 20 minutes--also, she did not apologize for not having answered the phone for the almost 10 times that I called them.
Finally, the delivery guy came back and when I got to my apt and opened the bag--SURPRISE! it was missing the spicy mayo sauce! At this point I was furious. I called the restaurant and said that this is the 2nd time they have done this, and the guy asked if I wanted credit or if he should have someone bring the sauce. I asked for the sauce, because I will not be ordering from there again. About 15 min later the guy brought me the sauce + the original receipt. The discount they had given me was $1.25, not the $1.50 that was originally promised and supposedly "posted to my account." At this point I didn't know whether to laugh or to scream. Their food is also mediocre and the sushi was mushy and fell apart when I picked it up with chopsticks. All I can say is that I will NEVER be ordering from Teriyaki House again.

good food...slow delivery...but worth it!

T.H. Serves great Japanese food at the right temperatures. They also have a Chinese menu that is just as good as the Japanese and surprisingly adds to the quality of the restaurant. They are open late, and the food is always fresh no matter when you go. This restaurants decor echoes a slightly older lunch place from Japans countryside-- Charming, canteen style.
I usually order take out, most of my friends also order take out from there as well. The food takes anywhere from 25-50 mins. to be delivered no matter how far or close you are from the place. They rarely mess up the orders, but are a little rude when they do, and you will have to wait just as long to get the food redelivered. Nevertheless the food is hot when it arrives.

Better in the restaurant
Posted by regularbostondiner on 11/12/2006
I've had take out many times from Teriyaki House, and it was always ok. I stopped in there a few Fridays ago to eat in the restaurant and the food was great! So much better than it is when its delivered. The sesame chicken was delicious, the lo mein was very good too. The shu mai is not the regular shu mai you get in most Chinese restaurants, so beware. The CA rolls are great too, I can't comment on the rest of the sushi. The boneless spare ribs are always a good choice too. I agree with the other reviewer, the Chinese is much less greasy than most Chinese food.

Best Delivery
Posted by grommetick on 09/18/2006
When I see a Japanese-Chinese menu it makes me skeptical, but they managed to do it right. The Japanese food is good (Im picky with Sushi specially) and the Chinese food is not so greasy, it is fresh and well made AND they deliver to the South End. Try the Crab Rolls (their version of Crab Rangoons) you will never order from anywhere else for delivery.

Good fresh sushi, reasonable prices, menu needs a little more variety...but i have them on speed dial AND they're open late!
