    Horrible salad

    Posted by bishopsheadgirl on 01/11/2009

My friend and I went there for lunch. We had been told the house salad was to die for, but when I tasted it, I thought I was going to die! There was a huge mound of soggy iceberg lettuce weighed down with tons and tons of parmesean cheese and dressing. That is all there was to the salad! There was no way it could be eaten. That was the worst salad I have ever had in my life. The waiter was kind and did not charge me for it, since I sent it back when I was unable to eat it.

    Avoid Chiapparelli's

    Posted by DebCon on 09/15/2008

Okay, this is my first online review about anything.....That should be a clue about how unhappy me and my friend were about this meal..... I can only hope that other restaurants in Baltimore's Little Italy are a whole lot better than Chiapparelli's! Maybe we chose the wrong restaurant. It looked good online, and it had decent reviews, BUT----- to start off, the house salad was made with iceberg lettuce (HELLO! How about a little ROMAINE??). The dressing, by the way, was pretty good, but the lettuce was completely soggy, and of course, tasteless. It was scarcely edible. I ordered one of the house specialties, Vitello Leo. Again, it sounded awesome online and on the menu, but it was actually terrible. REALLY BAD. My friend ordered the Osso Bucco, and while the meat was nice and tender, it was horribly mediocre tasting. The upside? The bread was pretty decent. I needed that to fill in for having to push most of my meal aside. Sadly, the waitress we had did not care AT ALL! These folks would do themselves a huge favor by checking out the Italian restaurants in North Boston. Those folks know how to do Italian right!

    Avoid....

    Posted by KC15 on 06/14/2008

Where do I start.... The restaurant is jammed, tables one on top of another to begin with so forget an intimate setting. The service was HORRIBLE, we must have waited 15 minutes until the server even noticed we were sitting there. As for the food it was mediocre at best, though the Chip salad was actually decent. I would not reccomend this place.

One of the must go to restaurants in Little Italy

    Posted by Nubbs820 on 01/24/2008

It has been around for years and years. For a nice quiet evening of italian food this is one place you would want to visit. They tend to be very busy on the weekends. Their menu has something for everyone on it. The salad is the best in the area.

Calimari is best around; Chip salad is # 1!

This is the most fantastic little eatery I have ever been to. The service is always fantastic with a wonderful family atmosphere. My wife and I were recently there (without reservations) on a Friday night. We waited for about 45 minutes for a table (with our 5 year old). The staff was so kind that they even brought out a plate of french fries for our son while we waited. We have eaten there several times and I took my boss and potential new boss there for lunch and they were impressed.

    great lunch

Three colleagues and I had lunch at this delightful restaurant in Little Italy, Baltimore. We shared a plate of Calamari for appetizer. The calamari was tender and the deep-frying light enough to preserve the taste; the marinara sauce was pretty good. For a main course three of us ate Antipasto Neapolitan with shrimp. The antipasto contained fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, capers and olives with a dressing of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was excellent and the combination of antipasto and shared calamari was a perfect size for lunch. Lunch for 4, with service $70.00

    A Favorite

This is a great family, neighborhood restaurant. The waitstaff has always been pleasant and the food has never been disappointing. Used to live in Little Italy and would always run down for their salad and bread to take home! We eat here at least four times a year, often with a large party.

    Excellent Fettuccini!

    Posted by carmillion25 on 02/10/2003

The fettuccini here is superb. Never had anything like it before...usually when I order this dish it comes out very heavy with too much cream. I appreciated the fact that this was on the lighter side. The salad was unique as well... I must say that the service was horrendous though.

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN SO INSULTED AS I WAS AT CHIAPPARELLI'S... I'm 23 years old but I often get carded for 18+ events... I look young, ok... but when I went to Chiapparelli's WITH RESERVATIONS, ON VALENTINE'S DAY with my boyfriend, they blatently put tables of older couples in front of us that had made later reservations. We waited for over an hour and then were sat next to the kitchen! I will never eat there again.

As soon as you walk in, you just think to your self, why me? The staff is not only dum, but rude aswell. The Italian food you buy at your local market is five times better then the slop they call your entre'. If you want to sabotage a business meeting, take your clients here.
