Allen Park $1.00 Show/Best Value for a Night Out!
Posted by Idolmakercat on 01/23/2009
The Allen Park Show is the best value in town. I enjoy the popcorn and refills. I have been going there for over 20 years and I even went there when I was a child. The seats are a little old but they are alright. It still has that old fashioned feeling the Wyandotte Movies that closed in the 80's.

Family oriented

This is a second run movie theater. I don't HAVE to see a movie as soon as it come out so, it is a pretty decent place. Instead of spending 50.00 for a family of 4 to see a first run movie and have pop and popcorn, You can easily come here and do it for about $15.00. And their popcorn is really good and you get free refills with any size! With MIchigan's economy the way it is, this is probably the cheapest entertainment around. I would suggest that you take some wipes and wipe down the children booster seats they provide, usually they are pretty sticky. They could empty the trash cans a little more often too.

Sticky Floor ...CHEAP movie
Posted by Becky H. on 12/26/2006
Recently went to the Allen Park MJR theater with a friend. $1.50 to get in...WOW that is cheap. The movies was very good. Those are the high points of this review. Now for the not so good part:The low back seats reclined so far that my neck was KILLING by 1/2 way through the movie. The theater also has slanted floors...so, when the person in the back of the theater spilled their pop...it poured all the way to where we were sitting....YUCK! Thank goodness my purse was in my lap. The ladies room was FILTHY....and the popcorn was so salty I thought my lips were going to fall off. Overall, I think the saying YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR ...Well, ITS TRUE!

Great place for a movie!

Allen Park keeps me coming back. This is a great place to catch a movie and enjoy a snack with the entire family and not break the bank. I especially enjoy the free movies for kids that they have been running on Saturdays. Parents pay a dollar and the kids get in free. Spending time with your family is fun and cheap. And if you want to get away without the kids, the babysitter will cost you more than your evening.

Great Deal

I've been going to this theatre for years now and I am always satisfied by the service. The staff and service and cleanliness are on par if not better than any $8.50 theatre. Sometimes the lighting or audio is subpar, but I rarely notice once the film gets going.

Clean and comfortable
Posted by Amanda M. on 12/29/2005
I used to go to this show as a kid in the 1970's. Now I go when I don't want to spend $8.50 on a movie, but still want to see the big screen. It's one of the very few "dollar shows" in the area. Actually, the last time I went was to see Flight Plan a few weeks ago. It was $1.50. The popcorn is better at Southgate MJR, but everything else is great. The seats practically recline all the way back. Very comfortable. They keep it clean. Parking is good and is not a far walk to the entrance.

You Get Your Moneys Worth
Posted by cookiemonster02 on 02/24/2003
You definately get the quality for the $1.50 admission. The movies are usually scratchy and the sound is off, or wobbly. The new seats are comfortable, but the lights are too bright and will begin to annoy during the flick. Not a place for a first date.
