Pay too much
Posted by jasontlane on 06/16/2008
I have lived here for 3 years now, and I have to say that overall the experience has been a negative one - the partments are small; I pay $1027 a month and really would have no room for a roomate, unless we were stuffed into the place like 10lbs of poo in a 5 lb bag. I know that I am going to get screwed on my deposit, because that's what they do here. The pool is cool, but it's an extra $100 per person for the 3 months that it's open, and friends will cost you $5 a day! My drains are soooo slow I can't wait to get out and have a bathtub that does not hold 8" of water when I shower - toilet and kitchen sinks backup too, and I have complained many times to them to no avail. Maintenence will enter your apartment with no warning - Pretty creepy. I'll be very glad to get out of this overpriced hovel. The maddening thing is - i'm getting married and I might have stayed there if I could get a reduction - but they are signing new leases@ $899/month with $99 first month, and they want tp push my rent up another $50 to $1077!!! I'm sure this is standard practice for the filth that are realtors and apartment managers....Every bit as bad as used car salesmen.....Oh, and the walls are paper thin too - oh and 3 times over the last 3 years, strong winds have blown the roof off 2 of my neighboring buildings, destroying the contents - so be sure you have renters insurance.....

Don't live here

I would not recommend this apartment complex at all. It isn't worth the price of the rent, it is very expensive to heat in the winter because the apartments are not well insulated. The mamagment is also trying to hold 150 of my security deposit for 3 verticle blinds that were not in the apartment when I moved in, and brought that fact to the attention of the property manager a few days after I moved in. Now 1 year later they are trying to keep my money. I would advise against renting here

Do not live here

Do not move into the Manayunk Gardens Apartments! I recently move out and they are trying to hold $150 of my security deposit for 3 verticle blinds that were not even in the apartment when I move in. Once I noticed the blinds were missing I informend the property manager ,as I had already turned in my walk through sheet and per her instructions, that they were missing and she told me she would note it on my walk through sheet and now 1 year later they are trying to keep my 150. Do ot move here, it isn't worth the price of the rent and it isn't worth the risk that they will try to keep your money.

The worst place I have ever lived.

If I could give any advice, it would be DON'T LIVE AT MANAYUNK GARDENS APARTMENTS. I lived there for 2 years with a friend and 4 of my other friends lived there as well. They won't return any of our calls regarding the security deposit, and they charged us with a $530.00 cleaning fee, saying we left the apartment dirty, which was such crap...we cleaned it top to bottom. There are so many better places to live in Manayunk.

Priced too high.. non-existant maintenance - lousy staff & landlord
Posted by plasticono on 10/05/2006
I used to live here. I don't know who is writing the review for this place, but it stinks. Maintenance is slow to show up and never get any repairs right the first time if they do show up.
If you come here in the summer, you will think it's a nice looking place. It's not! Your apartment will never ever look like the sample. Noisy neighbors too, and the office doesn't want to hear about it either! I definitely would not recommend this place at all.

You get what you pay for right? Not here you don't! Maintenance is shiftless and lazy when they do show up. Noisy! I wouldn't recommend this complex.
