    Very Good

    Great experience and excellent rehab

I had a knee replacement and went to Brookwood for rehab before returning to home. I found that the staff was very friendly and caring. The therapy staff was excellent and really pushed me to do what I needed to do to get better. I would highly recommend Brookwood to anyone.

    Highly Reccomend!!!

I can't understand the other reviews! My 56 year old son came from a different facility wheelchair bound, not eating and listless. Within a few weeks, Ron was walking again; smiles, laughs and enjoys his surroundings. Being a SENIOR myself, I know the importance of a caring, dedicated staff in time of need.. I would not hesitate to reccomend this facility to anyone! Chalmer Rockenfield

Worst Place To Leave A Loved One

    Posted by WBO on 03/07/2009

After having this place recommended by Jewish Hospital, we left my mother-in-law there at 8 P.M. and returned the next afternoon to visit. What we found was horrifying! She was left in a day room by herself, unable to communicate with anyone, and had been left there for at least several hours. Upon looking into the room in plain sight from the main hallway, her blouse was unbuttoned, her bra exposed and thrown-up all over herself. The smell was unbearable, because she had had a bm and sat there since lunch. We arrived at 4 P.M. They had not put on her stockings for a clot in her leg and had not given her any food through the prescribe feeding tube. Needless to say, we packed her belongings immediately!

I would love to know exactly what individual rates these nursing homes. Although this facility is clean and looks great.....the care to it's patients is something to be desired. On more than one occasion we were told that our love one was not the only patient. At $4000 a month they all should be treated as if they were. We have had some good staff but its a shame that the negative responses we have received out weigh the postive. On numerous occasion we found little to no staff available and after talking with the social worker regarding our concerns we found that there was little change in how they ran their floors. My hope for those who are in need of services think long and hard and do your research before choosing a nursing home. Show up unexpected and ask questions and don't rely on what is written because as with a lot of nursing homes it's not always what it appears to be.
