The worst taxi service i have ever experienced in my entire life!!!

Before one indulges him or herself in my review of Myrtle Beach, SC's Tropical Taxi, I would like to make it clear that I have devoted the rest of my $37,000 Myrtle Beach vacation to dismantling this business brick by brick, or should i say tire by tire. It all began when my parents went to go see Cirque du Soleil at the Palace theater, leaving me without a rental car. My two friends and I were stuck at the Marriott Ocean Watch Villa Penthouse, without any mode of transportation. Being a Las Vegas veteran, I thought calling a cab to take us to the Coastal Grand Mall wouldn't be a half bad idea. I called front desk, asked for some taxi service numbers in Myrtle Beach, and was given the number to Tropical Taxi (843-267-7778). I needed to use a specific taxi service, since i didn't have any cash on hand. I could only pay using credit so my options were limited. I gave them a call, and told them we would be waiting at the Marriott Ocean Watch Villas. The cab was on prompt, on time, and our driver was fairly friendly. They managed to get us to the mall, and back home safely. Not to mention picking up a $50 tip from me. The VERY NEXT DAY my friends and I found ourselves at the Hard Rock Theme Park (located about HALFWAY between our Villa and the Coastal Grand Mall.. MEANING IT WAS ONLY HALF THE DISTANCE OF OUR ROUTE LAST NIGHT), plus the Hard Rock Theme Park is on the same street as our Villa, and the Coastal Grand Mall. In fact, we passed it on our first cab trip to the mall!!! After a couple roller coaster rides, and enduring temperatures of 100-105 degrees we decided to call a cab, and head on over to coastal grand again. After all, it's an indoor mall so we could avoid the heat and go see Will Farrell's new movie, "Step Brothers". I whipped out my cell phone, called up Tropical Taxi, then explained where i was. I then told Tropical Taxi that we were going to be heading over to the Coastal Grand Mall again. The man short... leaving me with, "Our cabs don't service the Coastal Grand Mall". I found this odd, considering the fact that i had used Tropical Taxi just yesterday, from a further location, to the SAME destination, and they had serviced the trip. Not to mention i left a $50 tip both ways. I began to argue with the man. First, because Tropical Taxi was our only way out of the blistering heat. Second, because i knew they did service the Coastal Grand Mall, since they drove us there just yesterday. And finally third, because i had left a ridiculously large tip the last two encounters with the company. I said to the man, "It's half the distance, plus you guys drove me there just yesterday. What's the deal, we need a cab." He responded with, "NO WE DIDN'T!!!", and i was instantly hung up on. My two friends and I were then forced to walk nearly 5 miles, in blistering heat to the Coastal Grand Mall. Aggravated, i called back demanding for the mans superior. He claimed he was the manager and that he reports to no one. I then hung up the phone, knowing there was nothing i could i say that could save me and my friends from the blistering heat. Be aware that Tropical Taxi was the only taxi number i had stored in my phone, since i figured i wouldn't need any other services, but I couldn't have been more of a fool. That is why i sit here on my laptop, atop a penthouse suite, typing my a** off to save innocent people from the same foolish fate that my friends and i came to suffer. Never ever use Myrtle Beach, South Carolina's Tropical Taxi. They're inconsiderate, foolish, and just plain dumb*** vacation ruiners... if that is even a word. Forgive me, but i have no idea how else to express myself, so please heed my word, and avoid Tropical Taxi at all costs!!! I really wish i could rate this less than one star. - Joe P
