Great place but get there early

    Posted by iscariot on 04/24/2009

This place is PACKED during lunch hours on the weekend. Be sure to get there either early or late. The dim sum is fantastic and their regular menu is amazing. It's also HUGE. People use this place for weddings, birthdays, etc. Some of the dishes are authentic chinese, some are more westernized. I've been going here for over 10 years and it's all great.

Was not what I thought it would be

The decor was nice and looked very clean. The dim sum was mediocre with the exception of the fried spring rolls and I don't think I'll be going back.A creepy crawler crawled across my hand as I was eating my broccoli! Gross! I think I'll continue to be a regular at Hong Kong Harbour.

    Great for families

I went to the Canton House for dim sum on Sunday. The place is great for families and they have a good selection of dim sum. Halfway through the chinese broccoli, I found a mealworm. The waitress was nice and took the broccoli off of my check and the manager apologized. I don't think I'll go back.

    Dim Sum!

    Posted by cornelius300 on 07/10/2008

I loved this place. This is the type of chinese restaurant that I used to go to as a kid before the times of strip mall fast food chinese places. Everything was freshly prepared form good ingredients, and the carts od dim sum were a real treat. My new favorite chinese restaurant- Excelsior!

    my dimsum place on sundays

I usually go to Canton House on Sunday mornings with a group of friends for some hot dimsum. Not too pricey, an ok atmosphere, and good food. I do not recommend the place for everyday Chinese food though. However I do recommend dimsum on weekends.

    Good Food and Value

    Posted by hippomm on 01/11/2006

A coupon from Entertainment book few years ago was our discovery of this restaurant. The manager of restaurant is very friendly. He always checks each table and has a good memory of guests. Found out he is from Vietnam and his parents are from Canton, China. We always have hot/good food and never had any disappointments. Portion is pretty big and their price is lower than many restaurants on Buford highway.

The Best Chinese Food we've had in Atlanta

    Posted by ildebrandino on 10/18/2005

They've recently remodelled and it is now an airy, spacious, almost beautiful set of two large rooms, with windows opening to a stretch of green, sparkling chandeliers, thick linen napery, and comfortable seating. A relaxing, comfortable setting -- except for the noisy, wildly popular weekend Dim Sum, when people are hanging from the rafters -- which is fun in its own right. However, they serve Dim Sum everyday, not as spectacular as the weekends, but pretty darn good. It's all about the food, which is terrific, with a varied menu that goes from unusual delicacies to all the familiar, favorite dishes. The service is so-so, but may be more from communication difficulties than rudeness, and is a minor drawback in light of the rest. This is Chinese food of the highest order, and we are very glad to have found it!
