Never had problem here...
Posted by Kevin W. on 04/27/2009
Used to be at the old Furrs location that I visited frequently as a child. Was glad something buffet style opened in this location. I currently live in Parker but travel to this location as I feel it is the BEST Chinese buffet I have been to in the Denver metro area. I have never been sick at this place and have eaten plenty of sushi, oysters and things that could possibly get me sick.. I am not saying that people haven't been sick b/c of the food, but the chance you take eating out at all (even eating in if not prepared correctly) is always there and a chance you take. As for the 10 + times I have visited with my wife and two kids, we all love it and thought almost everything we ate was good!

If you value your health, you will not eat here!

My family and I ate here one Sunday because we happened to see it while driving by and thought we would give it a try. It was one of the worst experiences we have ever had! The food was maybe room temperature and very well picked over. Kids were running all over the place screaming and putting their grubby little hands into everything, if they did not want it, they threw it back. One kid had on a pair of Heeleys and ran into an older woman who had a plate of food. The woman told him Excuse me, the boy bluntly told her Mind your f***ing business b***h. My family and I were seated in one of the rooms away from the actual buffet and there was a woman changing her baby's dirty diaper right on a table! She had no changing pad and the server saw this woman and did not go over to stop her or even wipe the table off! We got up and left vowing never to return! A couple hours later, my mother got violently ill, vomiting like crazy. That Monday I called the health department.

We were introduced to Great Wall China Buffet about 3 years ago. Every time I feel like I can eat a horse I go there. If you compare it to any other asian buffets in the city, there is no comparisson. Great Wall has great atmosphere, service, awesome selection of food. You will find about 15 types of seafood here as nowhere esle...It is clean too!!!
I do not work there, but I definetely recommend it to anyone.

Good food if you can afford it. Clean inside.
I think this place used to be a Wyatts cafeteria.
They really fixed up the place. Nice aquarium when you walk in.
Don't overlook the chef's hidden in the back corner.

Variety of food

The buffet is huge. They have so many different selections of food. One thing I like about this buffet is that they have very crispy tempura. They serve vegetable tempura for lunch, and shrimp is available for dinner. They have fair quality sushi, large selection of chinese food and dessert. I like this buffet so far. Their service is fair as well.

DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING SICK!!!!

We ate at the Great Wall Super Buffet last night and about 5 hours later my boyfriend got violently ill. This was the only place we ate, and didn't even snack at home. He can barely stand for a few minutes before he's dizzy and has to lay down. He's in the bathroom every 20 minutes and can't even keep water down. They refused to refund us, and since it's the weekend we've left messages on 3 different heath investigators.
They also changed the price from $6.99 to $11.99 which is way overpriced. This place is worse than some $1 scoop spots!

The Penny Pincher's Favorite Chinese Restaurant
Posted by Katharine Swan L. on 02/27/2006
Great Wall Chinese Buffet is an all-you-can-eat buffet of Chinese food and other Asian cuisines. Most of the food is okay, but definitely not the quality you would get in normal restaurants. However, I would definitely recommend that you DON'T try the sushi. They don't serve it cold or on ice, as most sushi restaurants do; rather, it sits out on the counter until it is chosen. The pickled ginger is also pretty gross, as it tastes WAY too pickled. After eating at Great Wall, I had a stomachache - the only time I've ever had one after eating sushi. Although I think I probably would have been okay had I steered clear of the sushi, the experience is enough to keep me from going back again.

Can't Stop Eating at the Great Wall Chinese Buffet
Posted by Erika R. on 02/22/2006
Looking for a good Chinese buffet? I've got one to tell you about - it's the Great Wall Chinese Buffet, over on Wadsworth and Eastman in Lakewood. This is one very large buffet; it probably has 5 or 6 different bars with plenty of food choices. My family loves their Kung Pao & Sesame Chicken, but there's plenty of other types if those aren't your favorites. Great Wall also has fish, sushi, veggies, chinese soups, fresh fruit and plenty more choices. We find it a bit pricey for dinner, but it's a lower price for lunch (excluding Sunday lunch). If you don't mind the price, you will thoroughly enjoy the food over at Great Wall Chinese Buffet.
