To meet the needs of our clients, Lowy's Tax Planning & Accounting, PLLC was established as a AZ CPA firm to provide accounting, tax, and business advisory services to corporations, small businesses and individuals throughout the Phoenix area. Recognizing that each client has unique goals, we tailor our services to meet your specific needs. To better meet the needs of our clients, we have individualized services for clients in industries like construction accounting, real estate accounting, financial services accounting, professional services and various consumer services. These individualized services have enabled us to address their industry specific challenges, compliance needs and standard tax practices.

Alex Lowy

Alex Lowy is the sole owner of Lowy's Tax Planning & Accounting, PLLC. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Masters in Taxation (MTAX) and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts (AICPA) and the Arizona Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Northern Arizona University in 1989 and his Masters from Arizona State University in 2002.
Alex began his career in Finance as the Controller for several small businesses specializing in restaurant management, manufacturing, high tech, and construction. He obtained his CPA certification during this time. For the following six years, he worked as a CPA with a several local firms that specialized in construction, real estate and high net worth individuals. In 2002, Alex opened his own firm, Lowy's Tax Planning and Accounting. We currently service more than 100 small businesses and several hundred individuals.

On a personal note, he is the father of five children, ages 16 - 2 years in a blended family. At times, his sanity is questionable.

Elizabeth Simon

Elizabeth (Liz) Simon is the firm's accounting manager and has served in this position since October 2002 when she joined the company. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and primarily focuses on small business and real estate accounting and tax matters. She is currently in the process of developing tax software for business owners. Liz is a certified QuickBooks Pro-advisor as well as a licensed realtor.

Marisela Desaubin

Marisela joined Lowy's in October of 2003 while still attending school at ASU West. She graduated May of 2004 earning a bachelor's degree in Accounting. Prior to working here, Marisela worked for H&R Block for four tax seasons as a preparer gaining valuable experience in tax preparation. That learning experience has no comparison to what Marisela is learning at Lowy's. She enjoys working for Lowy's because of the friendly, positive atmosphere and the challenges that the everyday brings. She is very determined and ambitious about continuing her education and knowledge as an accountant and tax preparer.

Sherry Yuan

Sherry Yuan came to the United States from China at the age of 15.. After finishing high school, she continued her education and obtained her BS degree in Finance from West Virginia University. While in university, she was on the "Dean's List for Outstanding Scholars" and graduated top of her class. She moved to Arizona in 1999 after graduation and worked for companies in the financial sector. Before joining Lowy's Tax Planning in May, 2004, her accounting experience included investments, insurance and financial planning. Her education background and work experience combined with her willingness to learn has made her an asset to the company. We are very happy to have her with the firm and believe our clients feel the same.
