I'm not happy with the people who works there....
Posted by Agustin on 07/18/2009
For some reason the security people asked us to leave, place was little noisy, we were next to the stage, we slightly touch some acustic instruments, but that was it, somebody came over and without any warning ask us out, I'm not overrecting, it was awful........ALSO the, I guess, "Lady"? behind the counter selling the tickets was "absurd rude", looking tired, mad, crazy stupid, without care of the people, I don't expect her to act professional, to do that, you hace to have at least certain amount of inteligent, and she showed that night she doesn't have it.....I will be back, just because I want to and because I can do that if that pleased me, but be aware, that people are kindless ..

Black Cat
Posted by shannon f. on 03/30/2006
This is one of the better concert venues in the area. They get some very god acts here. I love when they have brit pop nights here. The music is so great and it is something you don't hear at a normal club or concert venue. This venue is located on 14th street in DC and is one place a local should visit at least once while living here.

The theme nights are great
Posted by Laura G. on 01/11/2006
The Black Cat is a hip concert/dance club/restaurant all in one. They often have theme nights such as indie pop night, brit pop night, etc. which are great. The food is good as well. The neighborhood is not the greatest and there is a lack of parking. It would be much better if only in a different location.

Great place
Posted by Brandon S. on 09/20/2005
Big, spacious, plenty of room, never gets crowded. Great bands show up here, and there's even a vegetarian resturant in a closed off section (free from smoke). The black and white tiled floors are a nice touch too. Doesn't cost much, and there's plenty of free parking!

Every City Needs One
Posted by El J. on 08/17/2005
Every city needs a Black Cat. It's a hole in the wall-ish concert venue that attracts local and regional bands playing all types of music. While shows at slightly larger venues like the 930 Club and large venues like Wolftrap or MCI can be relatively subdued, you're always guaranteed to have a good time at the Black Cat because the crowd is always psyched to be there and there to listen to the music.

Right Music, Right Price
Posted by Ryan M. on 08/14/2005
With two stages, one featuring more major indie rock bands for an average cost of $15 and the other featuring rising stars and old stalwarts with an average cost of $10, the Black Cat has something for everyone looking to expand their musical horizons. The neighborhood location leaves a little bit to be desired, so be sure to bring a friend along and most shows are 18 and over, so even you underagers out there can catch a show here.
