Margaritaville New Orleans
Posted by roushsm on 05/27/2009
A fun escape from the norm! This is the third location I have visited, and although I think the Key West and Orlando locations are better, New Orleans was fun. The environment, drinks and food are great, and the shop has all kinds of great souvenirs! Go to their website and click on "Daycation" and they will suggest all kinds of fun things to do in the area.

The name says it all!

Margaritaville, New Orleans, was a surprise for me. Never having visited more than the Las Vegas location, I wasn't disappointed in the drinks, food, or service. In fact, the coziness of the N.O. location made it feel a little more "homey". The drinks are always top notch, the food is...well, some items are just plain bar and pub choices, while others are a little more involved. There is something on the menu for everyone. The service was good but a little disoriented when we were first seated; I never had to wait on anything so no complaints, it just took a while to figure out who our actual server was. Each member of management came by and checked on our satisfaction; some hung around and had "tourist" conversation, which I personally welcome although some do not. Everyone was friendly as I expected, and yes there are alot of tourists there so the crowds come and go. The gift shop is like any of the other locations, a little cramped but had plenty of choices for merchandise. I recommend going there if for nothing else than to see the decor, have yourself a 'rita, and enjoy the tunes!

good bbq shrimp
Posted by sushilover17 on 06/17/2007
any new orleans native knows that bbq shrimp isnt slathered with bbq sauce, instead it's covered in an oily spiced up mix that keeps the shrimp moist and delicious, this is what this place provides. the service was a bit slow and the atmosphere is toristy.

I walk in there and I feel like I'm in another world. One made out of beaches with sand and plam trees. Surprisingly, this place isn't really a tourist trap. Their food is moderately priced and they serve the BEST MARGARITAS EVER!

Not a fast food joint
Posted by lovenola on 10/08/2006
I used to live across the street from Margaritaville in New Orleans. The food was always GREAT and the music as well.
This is not a fast food joint...for the guy who ordered food to go....besides that, when you come to New Orleans, taking food to go is not the way...sit down and relax and enjoy, for goodness sakes!
I have had those same fritters, and they are great, but probably not so great after being in a styrofoam container for ten or fifteen minutes!
Also, for the people who seated themselves....FYI--- seating yourself in a restaurant is a really good way of guaranteeing yourself no service or to be moved by employees.
The waitstaff have SECTIONS and if where you sit is not an open section, you probably will not get any service.
I miss Margaritaville N.O., and I wish them the best!

Extremely disappointing food....
Posted by debatl on 09/20/2006
I ordered takeout: corn and crab bisque and conch fritters. When I arrived at my hotel, a ten minute walk, I opened the bag to find a fork and knife, but no spoon with which to eat the soup. So I pulled out the fork, took a taste of the soup, and lo and behold, it was barely lukewarm, which tells me it was not properly heated before being put in the container. It was then on to the fritters. I opened the styrofoam container to find seven greasy, nearly burned fritters. The edges were actually black. This was 14 dollars worth of food. Because I was starving (and had just spent 14 bucks) I ate the now room temperature soup and a few of the fritters. I would have enjoyed a happy meal more and saved 12 bucks.
Only saving grace, the Margarita I got to go. It helped numb the food debacle.
