Karen is great! She is professional, clean, reasonably priced and knows her stuff. Before Karen, I had never received a laser treatment for anything in my life. And here I was, jumping into it with having a brazillian done. But, she explained it all to me thoroughly and she has a way about her that makes you feel comfortable. I would highly recommend her to anyone. Even to the faint-hearted. Thanks Karen! Laura J.

I've promised Karen for months that I would get off my tail and write a review on all the things I tell her face-to-face. I've waited...truly and honestly to be only that I've been incredibly selfish and ridiculously busy. I'm probably the most skeptical person you will ever meet, especially when it comes to spending my hard-earned money, which has become completely void from logic, while experiencing Aesthetics by Karen. This very well may be the most incredible experience I've ever received, as you just don't come across this type of work/service/feeling of freedom/cleanliness in the Tampa Bay area, without recognizing anything other than PURE professionalism. I am a 30 yr. old man, and being treated with laser hair removal by Karen; on my chest, abs, "boyzillian", perianal area, neck, shoulders and portions of my back, arms and hands. In being honest, this type of service takes a hell of a lot of patience and discipline, but after 4 treatments, I can't relay enough about how amazing I feel about my appearance. Wow, I just made it sound like I am just a freaking gorilla, but I really wasn't. I just seek a smooth, toned and sexy finish to my skin. Hair, regardless of bear-like appearance, isn't exactly the Brad Pitt look many men crave but wouldn't ever confess to.
It goes without saying, that I am a LIFER with Karen. I plan to move on down to the legs- at least to get rid of some of the 3-way follicles that seem to love to crowd one pore. Many of my friends have the same issue, but just don't have the balls to go through with treatment. I'm the type that doesn't seem to ever get enough of something. You know what they say about fast-food...everything in moderation is fine, well nix the fast-food thing (don't touch the stuff), yet when it comes to my skin/hair/body- I want more, more and more.....!
Regardless of my personal outcomes and disregard to what nature intended for me to have, I digress in that I wouldn't trust my body and desire for perfection to anyone other than Karen Marlise.
Truly, there isn't any other operation out there that can give you the results that you desire need or WANT.
Don't waste your time and money looking elsewhere; you just simply won't find it. If anything, give Karen a call for a free consultation. That's what I did at first, and booked my first treatment literally days later. This was after I went to "Ideal Image" in Tampa, and received a quote which literally quadrupled Karen's, further giving you the feeling that you were about to spend the next 5 years paying it off. I looked at them, and said "that's like a house payment", with response of, "you get what you pay for". Without further consideration, as that may be the most unprofessional response I've heard, it's unbeknownst to me, how they stay in business. Don't make that mistake. Go to Karen FIRST, you won't regret it. She works like a dog, but seems to still find the time to be one of the most remarkable individuals I've met. She's like family to me now, and best of all someone I can count on to make my life and grooming a hell of a lot easier :)~
Karen- you're a doll! I hope you're having a Blast in Alaska~ You deserve it sweetheart! Can't wait for July’s treatment!

My review:
I went to Karen to get my full-back done in laser hair removal and I can't believe how much hair I lost after the first visit. Then I wanted a brazilian and my bottom-side and she gave me a great discount even know she didn't know me well. The more services I did the cheaper it got. Shes such a great lady and worked really hard , I can tell shes a real pro. The minute I hit the door she started to work on me and when finished she iced my back down , so the next day I had no negative after affects. After a week I was losing tons of hair, Im so happy. Thank you Karen, This is Chris by the way.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the experience meeting this talented lady. She went right to work knocking herself out to prepare me for laser hair removal. She asked me all kinds of questions, shaved me like a pearl, gave me a couple of extra areas for no charge like the back of my neck and shoulders. She even gave me treatment on my ears which I hate hairy. After she iced everything for I think it was about 5 minutes. Explaining why and how important it was. I didn't ask her about treating those other areas because I was budgeting what was most important to me. But, I am a single man hitting 45 and it is very important I look sharp.
Later I am going to do my beard but, she told me not to until I lighten down as much as possible first. She explained to me in detail everything about permanent hair removal, hair reduction and lasers. Even though I did a lot of reading I learn so much more after listening to her. She rid me of these awful skintags under both my armpits and a few on my chest.
Then, finished her work on me with the nicest haircut I have had in a long time. My hair falls right into place and I can't believe how much hair hasn't come back on the back of my neck. Always two weeks after a haircut I have to try to shave that area to keep kept looking until the next haircut. This was such a kind additive to her service. She is very kind and caring type of lady. I pretty good judge of business and she is a true pro. The business is in a big beautifully kept home but, very professional. It is very apparent that she never stops working. Everything is so clean I was very impressed and she is so very down to earth I was impressed in so many ways..I really liked this lady because I knew right away that she really cares my satification and I couldn't believe how much I got for the costs..

Service was exceptional. I was treated like I was at a 5 star resort. You get more then you expect. I did the eyebrow tattoo and lip liner, and laser hair removal treatments for facial hair. I had checked out a few shops in Tampa and St. Pete because I knew this was going to be a fairly long commitment with all I wanted to get done. The prices were much better and I am so happy with the results. I was a little worried to get these things done at a smaller shop w/out all the fancy trappings and building but I think I got A+ quality work. I'll be back in future for sure!

Karen is professional, discrete and well-versed in all hair removal techniques. I was thinking about laser hair removal for many years, but was nervous to take the plunge. That is until I met Karen. She is the best and has many years of training with excellent credentials. She has changed my life. I was a slave to waxing every month. Now, I can wear shorts and bikinis anytime and anywhere...freedom! Karen cares about her clients and explains every technique/option in detail. She makes you feel at home and comfortable. If you are thinking of hair removal, look no further, Karen is absolutely the best around.

Wanted hair removed left with Red Bum

I went in wanting to get hair removed from my bum. Not only did they do this but they removed some skin as well. Leaving me with what we call in my country the dreaded "Red Bum" reserved only for male gigolos. The elderly host was apologetic though and offered to hook me up with her grand-daughter.

I have taken training in Permanent Make-Up in two other "schools" and I got more out training with Karen than I did with the "weekend wonder training" I got. She is a perfectionist and more importantly a very patient and consistent teacher. IF this is a profession you are considering, look no further, you will be wasting your money if you go elsewhere BELIEVE me. I have spent and wasted money with incompetent, greedy trainers, who can't teach. Teaching is a gift, Karen has it.
As far as skin care treatments don't waste your money going to Aestheticians who do not have the equipment. I am an esthetician, but I can't do what Karen can do,I don't have the equipment. I can give a "nice " facial but if you are of an age needing anti-aging results she is the person to go to. Unlike a medical office she does not have a number or quota like you experience in a medical office. This is not a drive through experience. You will get the results you are looking for within your budget.

I have been seeing Karen for several years for electrolysis, laser and non-permanet makeup. I wouldn't trust my face to anyone else (or my underarms, legs,etc.). She has had over 26 years of experience and it shows in the professional manner in which she treats her patients and the quality of her work.
I had seen a couple of people before her and was very displeased with all of them. I couldn't believe that in a place like Tampa Bay, Florida good aestheticians were so hard to find...but they are. I have been very happy with Karen and she has given me all kinds of referrals of several good quality people in several other healthcare areas as well. She also has a very good artistic eye which is necessary the for the kind of work she does.
