        Overall

        I travel down to New Roads, LA three times a year and last year I really enjoyed staying at Morel’s Inn despite the little problems that generally come with staying in an older building, etc.



        I have to thank the staff for trying to be accommodating but the problems during my last visit was even more than they could handle.



        I need Internet for my job but the WiFi was not working in my room so I had to hang out in the restaurant which really was not ideal.



        I also needed a refrigerator and found out that not all the rooms have refrigerators even though guests are charged the same with or without.



        The toilet in my original room was extremely loose and when the plumber temporarily stabilized it, he must have also broken the wax seal because the room began to reek of sewage.



        Then I was move a room in the front of the inn which is about 20' from a very busy main street. The traffic sounds all night and the running toilet in THIS room, prevented me from getting a restful sleep.



        The next day I if there was another room. The person said no. But while I was sitting in the restaurant (Internet) he took a call and set up a reservation for that night in queen room.



        Then there were some other things like hair on my duvet that wasn’t mine, the room had a bad, musty smell, the light outside the window was just too bright, and I had an overall feeling that the inn is just not being kept up.



        This is all very unfortunate because the location is ideal for me. I feel that being on False River is very special and I’ve enjoyed my meals in their restaurant.



        The problem is, I have work to do when I am there, and four hour drives to get there and return home, so rest is very important and so is clean room.
