Behind the facade
Posted by gromitzzz on 01/14/2008
The modern architecture of the Venice branch seems out of synch with a Thai resto but the place compensates with a clean environment, generous servings of delicious fare at affordable prices. The crowd is company you would like to keep.

Very good food

I loved the taste here. So far, I have had food here 3 times and every time it has been great. I like to explore, so I try new items every time. Girls are hot and service is pretty good too. Always crowded as it seemed to me.

Perhaps try any of theire Mee krob, Neua pad prik, Pad kee mao, Pad see ew, Pad Thai, Rad na or Thai fried rice. But if you are looking for Pad Thai, good Pad Thai, just walk on by.

Over rated

I used to love this place when it was across the street. Their new upscale look is a great place to take guests and to impress. However, their old location take over by Thai BBQ is much better. The decor and service is good, just overpriced and portions are small. But if you have a date and need a place, Natalee won't disappoint.

Good quality for the price.

I have eaten here a few times and reserved judgement until I've tried a few things on the menu instead of just one dish. This restaurant is hit and miss. The first time I had eaten at Natalee Thai, I was very unimpressed. The food had tasted "Watered down" or dull. Perhaps it's just my taste buds but once I requested other dishes with extra seasoning or sauces they tasted delightful. The quality of the meat is very good here, Most asian inspired restaurants use a poor quality of meat, usually reconstituted from parts which is blatantly obvious. The Thai BBQ steak was very nice. Firm yet not chewy. The Pad Thai and Pad Sai eew used very good chicken & shrimp. I used to wonder what the big deal about this place was because it was always so busy, but now I realize it's one of the few places in the area to get a quality meal. Be prepared to season to taste, however I guess it's better to underseason than drown your food. Some people may have a more mild palette.

pretty tasty pineapple fried rice
Posted by shi j. on 11/19/2005
i don't normally order fried rice at a thai joint, but it was lunch, and i was craving a little comfort food. the pineapple fried rice here hit the spot. lots of good chunks of pineapple, and tasty chunks of chicken. the sweetness of the pineapple was a good balance to the meat and the rice.their salads are also pretty satisfying with just the right amount of dressing. i usually order takeout from this place, as it is near where i work, but the delivery is quick and i get a nice change of pace from the usual italian places nearby.

One of the best Thai on the westside
Posted by Emi O. on 10/13/2005
Authentic Thai is hard to find. Natalee's is the next best thing, on the westside. (Thai Town in Hollywood is THE best) Their prices are not the cheapest, but it is certainly worth the value. Goooood stuff.

Thai Food
Posted by jocelyn c. on 08/27/2005
Natalee has recently remodeled and now is housed in a very sheek building off Venice Blvd. I had found their food just to be okay, but if you're craving Thai food, this is a decent pick. They have your usual Thai standards such as pad thai, curry, rice dishes, etc. I believe they also opened another location, however i'm not sure exactly where that is. The ambience is pretty nice, hustling and bustling, but the building is new and looks hip. Space was a litle tight, but not bad. i think they also serve nice alcoholic beverages.
