    This really is Sushi Paradise

    My wife and I eat sushi every chance we get all over the world. Without a doubt, the quality of the sushi here was the best we've ever had. You won't find 50 different rolls, but you will find generous amounts of the best traditional sushi anywhere. Hamashi (yellowtail) was never a favorite of mine, but at Sushi Paradise it was amazing and is at the top of my list. In addition, the owners and staff were polite, funny, and welcoming. If you are looking to spend $100 per person at a fancy sushi place, this is NOT where to go. If you want amazing Sushi and service without all the glam, then the buck stops here.

    BEST SUSHI IN MAUI. OK, my wife is a self-proclaimed "sushi snob". We live in L.A. and if it's not Nobu, The Hummp or Nak-d Sushi, she's not interested. We ate at Paradise two years ago and have been dreaming about it ever since. After eating there again tonight, we confirmed our deep gratification for a chef (Akira Watanabe) who uses his experience and talent to select the best fish at market, and serve it up humbly at his little "don't blink or you'll miss it" sushi bar in Kihei. It's hidden in a Long's Druug Store center, and only the most astute hotel concierges know about it, but once you've eaten there, you won't believe the flavors and the portions. For $35, I had the sashimi platter that featured no fewer than two dozen tantelizing pieces of sashimi (2 each of about a dozen delicacies). Would have cost me double on the mainland, and wouldn't have been half as gourmet. DO NOT MISS this place on your visit to Maui. But (shhhhh) don't tell anyone - the locals like to keep it to themselves! Enjoy, if you love your sushi!
