Great Little neighborhood Pub
Posted by IlliniWood on 12/10/2008
I don't know what restaurant chicagobarfly was reviewing, but I have to disagree with her opinion of the food here. I've been here twice, had both fish and chips and sheperds pie, both were delicious. The service is very attentive and friendly. The place is a little noisy but what do expect from a neighborhood tavern? I would recommend Moher to anyone who wants to get a bite to eat and a beer to anyone and everyone. I'm glad that I didnt listen to chicagobarfly's review, it might have prevented me from revisiting a great little place.

Nice Place. Shame about the food

This is certainly a cozy spot. The staff are pleasant. It's family friendly. And Edgebrook certainly needed a neighborhood bar.
Now for the bad news. The food here is atrocious. I've been here on three occasions with family and friends. I've tried several items : a tastless hamburger, soggy Fish and Chips, rubbery BLT. (My fellow diners felt the same, including one who tried the shepherd's pie).
There was a time when one didn't expect high culinary standards from Irish pubs and bars. Those days are gone. There are many Irish pubs in Chicago (just as in the old country) serving delicious bar food. Hopefully Moher can follow suit. This place has the potential to be a wonderful local pub.

Went to Moher with 2 friends the week before St Pats 2006. Awesome place, just the right size, sweet and cute female servers and bartenders. Great ambience, the Stella on tap was perfect. I try to eat healthy, but couldn't resist the description of the onion rings on the menu and they were well worth the few extra situps. We ended up ordering 3 different meals, each were outstanding. A singer/guitarist showed up around 10:30 and he was really good and made the place feel even better.
