Great lunch spot
Posted by TGK on 06/03/2009
We go to Kyoto about every other month for lunch. The food is always good, but I have had better sushi. I am not fond of their crab meat, but their spicy tuna is delicious! I am most impressed with their lunch menu, we get 3 sushi rolls for $9.95 with soup and salad, which is a great deal. A couple of times we've had slower service, but the prices outweigh them. We always have a good time at Kyoto.

Best Sushi in Milwaukee
Posted by ioduae on 02/14/2008
My husband and I have tried lots of Sushi around the city and the country and this is hands down the best sushi in Milwaukee. The atmosphere is casual, but not raucus, and the owner/chef Ricky serves up the best rolls in town. The rice is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The prices are reasonable. The All-You-Can-Eat menu Sun- Tues is affordable, and even features many of their specialty rolls, not just the basics. Try it! You won't be dissappointed.

I LOVE this sushi!

This sushi is great. Kyoto may be located in a strip mall, but don't let that fool you. I mostly go for the 'all you can eat' sushi, and it is always wonderful! The servers are great, and 'Ricky' always greets us as we walk in the door, while whipping up a great roll for us to eat. The only downfall would be the slower service on all you can eat nights, but what do you expect when people are ordering 10 rolls at a time?! From the sashimi to the fancy rolls, it is all delicious. Give it a try!

Strange experience
Posted by ac4g63 on 02/14/2007
Hello readers. I've been around Milwaukee and I have experienced most of the sushi restaurants in the area. One Sunday afternoon, a group of friends decided to stop in Kyotos for lunch. The overall atmosphere of Kyotos was average at best and the there wasn't enough room in the restaurant for a large group of people to sit. Also there were no hibachi tables. After a long wait of standing in their lobby. (No one came up and greeted us but just walked by and looked at us) We were seated. A few of us ordered the "all you can eat" sushi which is nice. Its one of the few japanese restaurants around that offer such a thing. The food is pretty good although in my opinion, its more because its hard to mess up such a perfect food such as sushi. I've had better.
Onto my story. Now me and my friends can eat and we ordered a lot of food. Later on in the meal our waitress stopped by and told us that sharing wasn't allowed. The thing was no one was sharing, it was just an unfair assumption they were making because we had ordered many rounds of sushi. Later the waitress went back to the what seemed to be manager and spoke to her and for the rest of the meal, they kind of hovered around are table watching us which was very uncomfortable. At the end of the meal, the manager came up to us and said kind of half jokingly, half serious that she'll "remember us" and we can't have all you can eat next time. I thought this was very rude since we paid full price for everything, no coupons and on top of that, we left a tip. Average food, average place and strangely rude service.
