From a regular...

Poeple either love this place or hate it. I for one could not live without it. If you do not go often then you probably don't get it. If you want coorporate food, you should go elswhere. The drinks are seriously powerful. Magarita's are the best in town. The food varies from marginal to great, the service can be sketchy. Don't come if you are in a hurry. The interaction of the family that run the place is half the fun. Come in often enough and you will end up part of it. I love this place.

Yummy!

For at least 10 years I have had the pleasure of knowing the little neighborhood secret that is Caramba Cafe. I have been there at least 100 times and the food has always been fantastic.
They craft a stellar margarita and have a staggering range of choices so that you can get the cocktail of your dreams.
It is a lively family atmosphere that I can never get enough of.
And who doesn't Love the Loves?

Where EVERYONE is part of the family!
Posted by PeanutORcacahuete on 10/07/2008
Having lived in Atlanta for the past 5 years I have to say this is my favorite place to eat, in the city and especially to bring someone that's never been before or is visiting from out of town. Why? Because no matter if you've been there 100 times, or it's your first time, the staff and owners always make you feel as if you are part of the family AND you will have an AMAZING meal! Not sure what to have? Try whatever the daily special is (if it's not SOLD OUT due to popularity!) and you will be guaranteed a memorable meal!
There is a reason so many people are such regulars!
(and don't forget to try the Margarita's...they will knock you on your ..... BUT nobody does them better!!)

A fine family & a fine restaraunt!!
Posted by thelawlessfamily on 10/07/2008
we have had the pleasure of knowing mia, brian, rachel, george, georgey, & mikah for years. they are good people and good friends. furthermore, the food and drinks at caramba cafe are excellent. we have eaten there probably 1000 times in the last 10 years and have never grown tired of it.
i am sorry to see that others have chosen to take cheap shots anonymously over the internet at them. at the end of the day they were trying to give a troubled young man a chance at getting his life together by providing him with a good paying job. it is unfortunate that it had to end this way, but that's life in the restaraunt buisness.
i highly reccomend this establishment to you and your family. it is a wonderful environment that is always accomadating for children. mia & rachel love kids and consistently go out of their way to entertain families so the kids can have fun and the parents can relax.
so bring the familia and your appetite. the best mexican food in town hands down!

shrimp fajita salad and queso are the best!

I LOVE Carumba's food and atmosphere. It truly is the only place in Atlanta, much less Virginia Highlands that is family owned and operated. I can only go on my experience, and the food and service has always been very good. This does not mean with its sometimes party atmosphere , the energy does not get taken up a notch with personalities from customers as well as family and staff, but to me that is part of the pleasure of eating at Carumba. If I wanted a mexican restaurant with no character, I have many options. I can not even imagine what the neighborhood would be with out them. Caramba, you have a loyal patron for life!!!

For Our "Family"
Posted by CCFamily on 10/06/2008
We have just become aware of some recent reviews posted and are very concerned and saddened. We felt that it was best that we responded, including some background, and our assurance that the problem has been addressed.
At Caramba Cafe', our patrons are much more than customers, they are neighbors, friends and family. We take pride in being a family owned and operated business and love our patrons as family. In that spirit, we took in a young man who needed a job and support and guidance. We have been trying very hard to help him. We can not do so, however, when it damages our very reason for being in business, a good relationship with our patrons. Therefore, this young man will no longer be working at Caramba Cafe'.
Please, we ask that you all share with us your likes and dislikes, your good reviews and your bad, and we promise to always act promptly to address the concerns of our 'family."
Sincerely,
Caramba Cafe'

One bad apple does not ruin the bunch
Posted by Lalegs on 10/05/2008
I've been going to Caramba Cafe for over 10 years and have experienced nothing less than stellar service. I can tell you that to the extent that I did - I would address it directly with management/owners instead of posting a negative email on a website so I could ensure that something could be done. I can assure you that once the owners are aware - they will handle this situation as they have with any complaint that I have ever seen them receive in the years that I have been a patron. In the meantime, I look forward to continued great service, awesome food and mouth-watering magaritas!

Worst Service EVER
Posted by alsessions on 10/02/2008
I had the worst service I have ever had at a restaurant in Atlanta. GA. Our waiter did not come to our table after he took our order. We sat with empty drinks and chips until our food arrived. We never got our check and when we finally did get the opportunity to get our check he was arrogant and acted as if was our responsibility. We have both waited tables in Atlanta for years and could have done a better job ourselves.

Dankest Mexican Food Around...
Posted by jbacker on 04/04/2007
I've enjoyed every meal I've had at Caramba Cafe, the food hits your Mexican craving right on. The staff is friendly and not intrusive (except with the chips and salsa)...and last time I was there two of the waitresses joined me in a shot for the heck of it. I make to Caramba as often as I yearn for good Mexican grub ...at least once a week (if only they were open for breakfast and lunch ;) )...there's a regular who likes to park his red 'vette in front of the door, the plate reads EXPENSIV...always a good laugh in addition to the great meal.
