Great Atmosphere, great drinks
Posted by funkt on 12/28/2006
My girlfriends and I went to the Library for the first time and had a great time- there was good music, but when we were tired of yelling we went to the patio area where it was much quieter. The bartender that served us was friendly, she suggested drinks for us, and offered us two rounds of free shots throughout the night. The drinks were good, and inexpensive. We all had fun, and will definitely go to the library again. We didn't dance on the bar, but as we were leaving the DJ offered more free shots to anyone that got up to dance. Maybe next time.

Located on Mill Ave. be prepared to walk a bit from wherever you decide to park. This place was a little loud for my liking but my friends seemed to have a good time this evening. There were a few places to sit, but I would've liked more. We didn't get a chance to try the food we were just there to check out guys and my best friend did find her now husband there so I guess it's as good as any place to find your mate, or date for the evening. I don't think I'm gonna' go back though.

Great place to hang out...

Being from out of town, a group of us went out in search of a place to eat on a Tuesday night. Someone told us to go to The Library and we weren't disappointed. For 7pm on a Tuesday night, there was a decent number of people there, and it got busier as the night progressed. The food was good, nobody certainly had any complaints about the food. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Being a college town, most of the waitresses were probably college students. There are TV's everwhere, with each booting having it's own monitor. I had no problems with the music being loud.
If you're looking for a fun, nice place to eat (just good old American Food) and a little eye candy on the side, try out The Library.

the culturally bankrupt bar

Overpriced drinks, loud music, empty in the day and very greasy food. A more appropriate name would be "The Lie Berry." In the three weekday afternoons I've been here, the same guy sits at the front bar alone, talking to Jessica the bartender. As unbelievable as it may seem, in these three times the same female senior citizen has walked up to me asking me where she could find the bathroom. I have no idea what that means, but it's true. The last time she did this, I replied, "I'm sorry I don't work here but I certainly strive to look like the girls that do!" at which point this guy would loudly say, "Hey, I kind of like the girls here"." As moronic as it may seem, keep in mind we are talking about Tempe. Jessica just sits there with this very blank, bored look on her face as I attempted to purchase a calender. I have yet been able to be in this bar without having people offend me in some way. Lastly, I waited 15 minutes for somebody to open the cabinet to retrive a calender for purchase, I would have walked out but a buddy of mine from Florida had requested one. Having never hung out at the Library I got the feeling I was not welcome, which was expressed by the staff, and this senior citizen lady, in a very obnoxious, condescending way. Btw, I still don't know where the bathroom is at the Library and at this point, I don't think I really want to know.
