Great place for a private party

    Posted by kristenindenverco on 03/02/2008

We hosted a private party here a few months ago and were very pleased with how things went. The food was fantastic and unique, the waitstaff and bartenders were so friendly, and the overall experience was wonderful. I haven't eaten there for a regular meal but I can easily say that I will be using this venue for some of my corporate events in the future!

Great food for a fair price

This place offers some of the best food I've had in Denver, and all for a great price! Too bad they aren't open very often.

We need a quality fine dining restaurant at the Hamilton! Palettes is not up to the challenge!

The Denver Art Museum needs to boot this restaurant out! It?s over-priced, the menu is tired, and the food is just not worth stopping in for. It?s sad because I love my trips to the DAM. It would be a dream to have a three to four star restaurant in the museum with food in all price categories, since all people who visit don?t want lobster. Not that you can get that at Pallets. The menu is pretentious and doesn?t live up to the foo-foo descriptions. I?ve ordered everything from the steak to the salmon and have never been impressed. This place takes all the fun out of dining out.. I would love to have a quality restaurant in the Civic Center area. Art and food go hand in hand, but don?t waste your time at Pallets. There is nothing worse than expensive bad food.

Boring ambiance, fat laden meals did I mention it?s boring?

    Posted by zippiehippie on 08/31/2007

The menu is a poor attempt to provide creative cuisine for people visiting the Denver Art Museum. Kevin Taylor must assume people who enjoy the arts also enjoy unnecessarily oily, creamy, overly buttered and heavily salted food. If you want to have a great time dining out and care about your body, eat someplace else. Within blocks of the DAM are some better choices. You don?t have to eat insanely high caloric food when you dine out! I?ve visited three times for dinner and once for lunch. At lunch they were busy and the waiter was rude. I won?t be back. It?s over priced and just plain bad food!!! Pork Schnitzel was oily and putrid, Salmon tasted off, the Portobello dishes, which I had hoped, would redeem the place tasted like they had been soaked in Kraft Italian dressing. Yuck! I don?t understand the Kevin Taylor mystique? Maybe the king has no cloths? And perhaps the reason I don?t understand Kevin Taylor is because he?s a ?has been? from the 90?s. I?ve eaten at Prima and this review could basically apply there too, except the ambiance feels better. It?s more luxe, but given the choice and THERE ARE tons of choices in Denver, I will eat someplace else unless my client insists. . If you must go, just have coffee and desert of perhaps a glass of bubbly and dessert. It would be much more fun to ponder the ?Clifford Still? experience over desert and bubbly, rather than sickening your stomach with the main courses or even appetizers. BURP.

Is Kevin Taylor still a skinhead?

    Posted by cantake8 on 07/20/2007

Maybe those WHITE POWER days at Zenith are over, but I still won't eat at Kevin Taylor's establishments. He always could cook, but made his name by flirting with gay food critics -- it was funny watching him smile and coo with the old queens, then turn around and launch into an unveiled litany of hatred. I'll bet many of Denver's elite didn't know he was a full-on hater. But they probably don't care there aren't Jewish (or Latin or Black) members at Denver Country Club or Cherry Hills Country Club. Yeah, Kevin, you've just about fooled them all.

The atmostphere is classy, great food, and perfect service. Good stroll around the area to cap off the evening.

    Perfect Lunch

    Posted by drew22 on 06/08/2003

If you don't mind spending some money for lunch, Palette's is wonderful. The gazpacho is delicious, and goodness try the Asian Chicken Salad if you like spicy food. The service was perfect and the food was excellent. If it's nice oustide dine outside. My visit was a treat.
