    Very Good

Best Art Store in the West Valley

    Posted by krone03 on 01/16/2009

While not as big as Blick on the West side, I really like Continental Art Supplies and think it is the best art store in the area. It is easy to get to, and the selection and prices are good. I have had a good experience here many times (and have never been followed around like the other reviewer said). They have all the important staples, like bristol board and canvas and all sorts of paints and pens, but I like that I can often score obscure items here, and that the staff has been able to help me find them. For example, I once needed specific modelling supplies to make a prop for a student film, and they tracked it down; another time I needed Duralar to make a bleach stencil, and they helped me pick a size. Their selection of decorative paper is extensive also. They also seem to be promoting reusable bags, because they gave me a very nice free one a couple months ago, which is sweet. My only complaint is that they are not open very late, making it hard for me to get there on weekdays. Check the website to see if they are open before you go -their hours are very limited.

Avoid this poor art store at all costs!

    Posted by jenjen13 on 07/17/2007

This place is dirty, disorganized, ill-stocked, and has very poor costumer service. They really skimp on the people they hire so don't expect to find someone knowledgable about the supplies. They think everyone who goes there is trying to steal and so they make no qualms about following you around the store. Horrible customer service! I recommend going to Utrech's or Blicks. People there are friendly and know what they are talking about.

    Good

    Great selection

This place has a great variety of art supplies from graphic arts rulers to canvases and such. I like that it's kinda like a warehouse inside, leaving me lost in aisles and aisles of "stuff." PLUS they give a student discount. Score!

If you wonder where San fernado Valley artists get their supplies, it's definitely here. Their supplies seem endless, business always thriving, and so many things to choose from. Furthermore, it's not expensive and it has a homey and independent feel to the store. All sorts of people come here, from starving artists, to college students, and young children.
