Great Customer Service

My wife and I had a great furniture buying experience at Haverty's in Springfield Mo. Frank was our salesman and what a nice guy. We will be going back to buy more furniture and would highly recommend them. They are very proffesional and willing to help and answer questions. Frank seemed to know the products very well. Thank you Frank.

Lied several times about delivery dates just to get sale
Posted by ConsumerD on 10/03/2008
The furniture is mediocre but you get what you pay for so that was no big suprise. However, the upsetting issue is that I told them I needed the furniture by a certain date (3 weeks away). I was told that it would absolutely be delivered by then. I called 3 weeks later to find out when it would be delivered so I could ensure I was home. They sent me through the ringer on the phone for 30 min. trying to find someone to answer the question. Then I was told it would be delivered 4 weeks after that! I told them I was going to cancel by order, even though that was a huge inconvenience for me, since I needed the furniture by a certain date and they had lied to me to get the sale. Then, all of a sudden, it could be delivered a week later. I should have just cancelled. But, since it would require me to start furniture shopping all over again and to have to deal with a new company's delivery schedule, I decided to keep my order. As the new date approached (1 day before scheduled delivery) I was called and informed that only 4 of the 7 peices were in.
They lie and misrepresent just to get the sale. I CANCELLED THE ORDER and am reporting them to the better business bureau. This was at the Haverty's at Woodbridge, VA and the sales representitive was Crystal.

DININGROOM FURNITURE
Posted by anthrunhpycustmr07 on 02/07/2008
We have bought several items from Haverty's in TX but here in AR, the quality seems to be horrible.
We bought a very expensive dining room set. Once delivered we found the top of the table scratched in many places and chipped. They did replace it and the second table was almost as bad. Finally after many long discussions with the store, they again replaced the table. We tried to cancel our order, but they refused to let us do that. Now we have all the pieces but the table is not solid wood and chipped when removing the leaf. We had purchased insurance and are in the process of submitting our claim. I just feel that anyone out there looking for quality furniture, you may want to shop elsewhere. It may look nice on the surface, but it isn't worth the price you pay.
I think they need to sell a better quality product and go back to being a reputable furniture dealership. We would never buy from them again.

Poor Service

I bought leather sofa 6 months back from this store, which has full insurance also. The color of sofa has changed at many places and it looks as if old. we complained and they sent the person who took photographs and told us that this sofa must change. Later on when I talked to the manager of Haverty Satellite boulevard, the man does not give clear answer.
The only option left for me is to go to he consumer court if I dont hear from them this month.

Unimpressive
Posted by twinkle79 on 07/30/2007
I have shopped at Haverty years and have always been satisfied until this past Saturday. The salesperson who helped me could not answer quesitons regarding the piece of youth furniture I was interested in purchasing. I asked him could he find out...he responded yes; however, made no effort to answer our questions. I l;eft the store frustrated.

Helpful

My husband and I recently browsed the Macon GA store and we were greeted, offered help, then left to look alone as that was our request. Then the sales person gave us help when we requested size and dimensions of certain pieces of furniture. Very pleasant browsing experience. I love it when the sales people let one look instead of following one around like a shadow.

Terrible customer service

My mother and I purchased a sofa from a Havertys location in Tucker, GA. However, the sofa that we purchased from there was not stocked at that location. Our two choices were to either pay $100 for delivery to our home, or drive 45 miles to Braselton, GA to pick up the couch ourselves at the corporate headquarters. Since we didn't want to pay $100, we decided to drive to the warehouse and pick up the couch ourselves. When we arrived, the attendant at the front of the warehouse didn't get our couch pulled and brought to the front until 25 minutes had passed since we arrived (even though we called well in advance and said when we would arrive so that the couch would be ready for us then). At no point, from when we decided to purchase the couch to when we actually picked it up, did I feel like the Havertys' company cared at all about us as customers. I will never shop there again.
