Editorial Review for Tonys Italian Steakhouse – by Citysearch Editor

Don't let the smooth taste fool you: This swanky dinner club might look like something only a fat-walleted mogul could afford to eat in, but thankfully owner/chef Tony Riviera (along with his business partners) didn't forget the rest of us. Aimed at being the epicenter for top-notch recession-friendly feasting, this is the kind of place where you can impress your date and still pay the rent, kick it old-school with friends near the baby grand on weekends (that's when the piano player hits the keys), or saunter in before (or after) a night of Sunset Strip-ing. Spanning three fluid areas--a glowing sunken bar; the main dining room decked out in leather banquettes, Edison lamps and a wall of flickering candles; a $2 million-dollar exhibition kitchen and chef's table enclosed in a mosaic of steel, glass, mirrors and amber onyx--the restaurant serves up classic Italian steakhouse fare. Only here, nothing's over $25. And every entree comes with two sides. There are also plenty of other options including pasta dishes like the ginormous white truffle shrimp, a catch of the day, chicken and lamb chops. And not to worry--Tony didn't forget to extend the easy prices on the cocktails: As home of the $5 martini, folks can indulge in a different variety on a rotating basis.
