WOW! Unbelievable!

I found "About the Day" here on the Yellowpages last year and was really impressed by Stephen's work and other customers raves right off the top, but when he showed up to my daughters wedding, I began to see just how great of a choice we had made! I could go on about his professionalism, or his style, or the fact that he got along with everyone so well that we actually felt bad to have him leave. Stephen was actually a delight to work with and kept everyone around him involved and enthusiastic. I could tell you so much more about any of those things, but truthfully the results were the highlight to a already wonderful experience!!! Stephen posted some Facebook teaser photos right after the that seriously made me get all choked up and teary! Yes, I believe my daughter is very beautiful, but "About the Day" memorialized her and transformed her in their photos into something angelic and it was truthfully breathtaking!
When we had the full gallery to look through, it turned into a huge event here at our home! Both families came over and we spent the night ooowing and aaahing and gasping for air. Ellen (my daughter) has been bombarded by compliments and questions about her photographer and she's even on a quest of her own to tell everyone about Stephen now too! We've all become Facebook Fan's of his business page and would also recommend you visit the "About the Day" Facebook page and see the gorgeous stuff he does all the time!
I'm honored to give my recommendation about Stephen and "About The Day", and only wish that my words could convey to you how impressed and thrilled we all are with him!

Stephen and Sonia (About The Day) are a great couple and being so close in age to us and so friendly to everyone, we felt like they were part of the celebration as well and just fit in so nicely with everything while doing such an outstanding job. The pictures they took were great and they were very creative with angles, lighting and extra effects that can be done with photos. We choose their best package they offer and are extremely happy with the results. Photography for a wedding is so important because the pictures can last forever so we are very pleased we picked two amazing people that really helped capture our day and we'll be glad to show the results off to everyone including our future generations one day. Thanks again for doing such a great job and for being so personable as to make the business portion and the photo shoots just as fun as everything else that day!

Money well Spent

Todd and I had a limited budget but once we found "About The Day Wedding Photography" we knew that we would cut corners elsewhere to make sure their services were at our wedding and it was money well spent. I almost never write reviews unless things are bad but when I thought I had a chance to tell anyone and everyone about my wedding/ engagment photo/ video experience I thought to myself "Absolutely! I want everyone to know how awesome Stephen & Sonia were." It's been 5 years since my wedding and if you were to ask me what my favorite things were from my wedding were I would say hands down my new husband... followed closely by "About The Day". I am so grateful for the memories that they captured for us from our beautiful day. The flowers from the day will wilt, the food digest, the party atmosphere will loose it's luster in the crevices of our mind, but my photos and videos will bring back that magical time when the world was ours and we vowed to be together forever. You can't put a price on that but when you do be assured that "About The Day" is worth every penny and is money well spent!

We ran across About the Day on the Knot and after doing some price comparisons, we decided to look into what they had to offer. From the day we met Sonia/Stephen, we knew we wanted them for our special day. We got the Platinum Package and it was well worth the cost. We were married in October 2005 and loved, Loved, LOVED everything about them. They make you so comfortable that on the big day, you forget the camera is rolling. The photos were amazing, the video exceeded our expectations (caught moments I missed the first time around), but the thing that MADE the wedding was the love story. We showed it at our reception and it pulled everything together. We've been married for 3 years now and I still have people come up and tell me how much they loved it.
Stephen/Sonia: I wanted a wedding that not only I would love, but that my guests would enjoy and remember, as well. You helped make that happen for us. It was the first day of our life together and you caught the moments that we will remember forever. Thank you!!

Platinum Photography and Videography Package
We used Stephen and Sonia from About The Day for our July 2005 wedding, and wow...what an amazing experience. Not only did we get great treatment up to the wedding day, but they were critical in making our day so special. When rain came (as it often does in Washington), they helped us move the ceremony indoors and gave us pointers on how to get the most from the light available...so not only would it look good in our photos and video, but for us and our guests as well. They were fun, discreet, and the best wedding purchase we ever made.
What we loved...
~The documentary (love story) - It was the hit of the reception! We still hear about how cool it is.
~The online account - Everyone got to see our photos, and they were available before we even got back from the honeymoon!
~The flexibility - I asked for a special (and tough to create) photo to be taken on the day of, and they captured it!
~The service - I'm big on customer service, and Stephen and Sonia never made us feel like a number. They were honest, real, and refreshing...sometimes that's hard to find when you're planning a wedding.
~Editing style - Elegant and timeless...no cheesy effects or music anywhere. And the video is the perfect length!
~Photos - I was all about the video, but I didn't leave our photos to chance. We got a perfect blend of tradional and candid photos to tell the story of our day.
~DVD cover - I was so excited about this! They make it look like an actual movie cover. Their graphic skills are amazing, but it never takes away from the whole picture...they don't use crazy trendy techniques for the sake of using them...it all works together beautifully.
Three years later, and we just received another request to show our wedding video!

Stephen and Sonia made our wedding day memories last forever. They captured the joy and love of the day while making us feel relaxed. During the ceremony they managed to capture all of the important details without ever being distracting or noticeable. I recommended About The Day to my sister and my best friend, both of who are using them. I was overjoyed with the quality of the photographs they took. I have been in 4 weddings in the past year, and everyone who did not use "About The Day" told me they wish they would have! Thanks Stephen and Sonia, you were a true pleasure to work with!

Five Stars is all???

You should know I had been planning my fairytale wedding for years; long before I even had met my future husband or even had considered who that might be. I know that I was probably setting my expectations way too high because of the dreams and fantasies I'd been accumulating over all that time? Maybe so, but I can't help it! There were things like a unbalanced cake that fell to the floor and a sick groomsman that had to be hospitalized later that evening that I most certainly never considered. Yet, I have to think very hard about what disappointed me on that day because my recollection is based mostly on what I have to show from it now.
About the Day [Sonia & Stephen] made everything seem exactly how it was pictured in my head and the day grows more special as time goes by and my memories need refreshing. My album is GORGEOUS and the pictures amazed me... They still amaze me! Did we really look that good?! :) Wow!
Sonia was so easy to work with and my bridesmaids all loved her! Two of them have since used her for their weddings. And Stephen was absolutely hilarious to work with; keeping my family entertained and happy while he took their photos, and that was no small task - believe me! I got almost as many complements on my choice in Photographers and I did about my choice in my dress.
It's an honor to "RAVE" about them [Sonia & Stephen] and their abilities. "About The Day" did such a good job and impressed everyone so much that I'd say "it's a crime to not consider them". Seriously!

Exceded our wildest expectaions!

We were so impressed with Stephen and Sonia right from the start. We read about them in their "Bio" page on their website and already felt that we'd work well with them, and talking with them on the phone almost cemented the deal before we'd even met them!
We had a destination wedding in Sweden and our big reception back here in New Jersey, and we didn't think we'd be able to get a team of photographers or cover both events without paying a huge fortune for doing it... We didn't even think it was possible... but we were wrong! We had originally set out just to find a destination photographer and see what they'd suggest, and when we Google'd "Destination Wedding Photography" we were just blessed enough to see About The Day's website right there, and it was just what we were looking for.
I talked with Stephen at first and he spent time talking, explaining, listening, and even helping out with some great suggestions that we'd never even considered... and he wasn't like an "up selling" sales person either. I was impressed that he was genuinely trying to understand what I wanted and trying to make it happen for me.
It didn't take long for Drew and I to realize we'd been blessed to find Stephen & Sonia amongst all the craziness of planning a wedding and finding our professional help, and that we'd be using them for our wedding.
They had an awesome package that included Photography & Videography, and they were able to keep the price below what several local NJ companies where asking... without even adding in travel costs! We couldn't believe it!
We were featured in their September 2007 Blog and now have our album as one of the sample albums on their site as well. (I'm sure if you asked them, they'd probably tell you more about our situation... but I'm limited in this review and have to keep it short... or I'd go on all day!)
I highly recommend that you consider About The Day and what they offer, no matter where you are planning your wedding. Without a doubt, of every choice I made regarding my wedding, they were the best (not counting my new husband, of course). ---Cherry
