This is a great restaurant. I've been there several times. It is a wonderful addition to our community. Those people are delightful, the food is amazing, and the view is excellent. Wow, what an experience ! ! !
The reveiwer, Justsaying, rated this establishment at the lowest level based on other people's reviews. How can you do that?

5 Star..Service was fast and efficent..Food was excellent! Cal mixed with the guests...What more could you ask for ??? The portions were large...

Rivers Rivers Rivers ----- What a great place to be, good food, great company, perfect view. What more can I say other than everyone should try it at least 10 times with 2 or more in a party so you can sample something different each time. I have been many times since the opening and each and every time it just keeps gets better and better. HA! HA! just like lays/ruffles potato chips you can't eat just one.

Excellent food and views

We rarely submit reviews, but could not help it when we read the others posted, which by the way, were written when the restaurant first opened. We have been to Rivers numberous times and have not been disappointed. The smoked Chilean Sea Bass is out of this world and the Smokin' martinis are great. We usually arrive earlier than our reservation so we can order the unique bar appetizers and have a cocktail prior to being seated. We have taken many business associates with us and they have commented that they could not believe a place this great is it Redding. The view from Rivers has no comparison. The menu is unique and diiverse. It offers fresh seasonal ingredients, excellent smoked prime rib, seafood, etc. I lunch menu offers a wide selection for whatever appetite you possess. We hope other people will find the treasure we have, right here in Redding.

I haven't tried your restaurant yet. Was about to, until I read your reviews.
Clearly you have a problem with the Bar and service from the time of entry.. IE "Hostess."
Since these are the only buffers to keep a patron in until you can prove yourself on what they are truly there for, it seems detrimental to your business not to get this corrected right away.
I will have to see as many good reviews on these points, as you now have negative before taking my hard earned dollars to your establishment.
Good luck, and you might want to see what the problem is with your floor supervisor too, that this was not corrected already. Just saying............

2nd Chance

My recommendation to anyone who had the pleasure to experience Rivers to give it a 2nd chance. Every resteraunts grand opening will open with flaws. Now that the hipe of it opening you should try again. I went recently for my 2nd time around and it was great. Service was good as well as the food. Four stars goes out to the chef. I own my own company and will be giving certificates for this resteraunt that is how good they are now that Im sure they have ironed out the kinks. As for the Bar I think they could work on expediting those drinks.

We celebrated my mother's birthday at Rivers on Friday night. Eight of us were given a nice table not far from the windows, though any table seems to have a nice view, The decor is lovely, the menu quite extensive, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. (I highly recommend the coconut almond shrimp.) It was extremely busy that night, so one criticism concerns the difficulty in conversing with those at our table. And, unfortunately, our glass of wine was only about 1/3 full -- not worthy of its price. Overall, I would highly recommend Rivers, but be sure to have a reservation. It's popular!

Thursday, May 8, 2008. A friend and I arrived at Rivers restaurant to have dinner at 5 pm. The dining room was EMPTY, no one was at the patio tables, and no tables were taken in the bar area. We were told that without a reservation we would have to wait 1 to 1 1/2 hours. I find it hard to believe that by 5:30 or even 6 p.m. they were FULL?? There were a number of wait persons standing around, and the Hostess was not polite. We left and are not in any hurry to return. Pat J.
