This system work great. It keeps my home at a perfect temperature at all times. It has lowered my elevtric bil and is very quiet comparred to the 3 year old Carrier I had prior that died an early death after many hot days and night I moved on to Trane The company I used sent out a Retired State of florida Energy Rater . He desined and sized my system and followe the install to the end. Now all my rooms are the same temperature. You called the wrong guys
Posted by Boomastic on 03/06/2009
Call Doctor Air in Stephenville! I don't work for them nor know them personally but they are a Trane dealer and VERY good. Trane actually referred them to me after another dealer told me my unit was out of date and no more parts were being made for it. It was only 12 years old! Doctor Air came out and repaired it with no problems! These guys are great!

If you are a Trane/American Standard dealer, then why would you not recommend their product???
Here are some facts:
- Trane/American Standard products come off the same assembly line (Tyler, Texas) & are very similar or identical depending on the model
- They are the only manufacturer to design & fabricate their own compressors - they do not use Copeland compressors
- Their compressors (heart of the air conditioning system) have the lowest failure rate in the industry at .05%
- They have the only compressors that thickly coat their electrical windings in epoxy using the selectreat process as well as over 8 exclusive designs implemented for reliability and sound reduction
- In my 20 years of repair experience, I have replaced thousands of other brand compressors & replaced only two Trane/American Standard compressors
- Trane cooling systems have a transferable 10 year warranty on the compressor, indoor coil & outdoor coil (except their builders model) - keep in mind that just because another manufacturer has the same or better warranty, that does not mean that the equipment is just as or more reliable - most warranties only cover the part, not labor, freight and warranty handling charges - you don't want to have to use your warranty
- Their indoor & outdoor coils virtually eliminate galvanic, formicary and crevice corrosion due to their exclusive all aluminum design
- The spine fin outdoor coil has typically has only 4 to 6 joints vs. typical coils having 150 to 200 (larger leak potential)
- Outdoor spinefin coils outlast typical copper/aluminum coils (especially in salt air environments) and maintain efficiency better over time - although unlikely, if a problem does arise with the aluminum, it can be repaired by brazing
- Outdoor unit powder coat paint is applied after stamping of metal leaving no edges unpainted or unprotected
- Factory installed copper refrigerant filter dryer will never rust out
- Trane holds the patent for the most efficient air cleaner available (ranked #1 in Consumers Reports December 2007)
- The commercial equipment is excellent as well
- The details used right down to the rust resistant screws, equipment packaging, quality control etc. is A+
Yes, Trane & American Standard may cost a little bit more than other brands however in my professional opinion, it is money well spent. I do not work for Trane or American Standard and have no loyalty to them. I simply believe they make a great product. Make sure when choosing an HVAC company, that they pay attention to details, are licensed & insured and stand behind their work. It is just as important as the reliability and design of the equipment!

This is for mo-vegas1
and hvacman.
This is inaccurate. We are a trane and American Standard Dealer here in Houston, Tx.
Not every trane or american standard unit comes with a 10 year comp. warranty. Trane and American Standard have units with Copeland comp. in them Example: Trane Xr models are almost always Copeland scroll and the Trane 16i comes with a copeland scroll 2 stage comp. The only difference between Trane and American Standard is the condensor case and the price! Thats all!!!
The part numbers are different for say a trane xb 36k air handler and the american standard model 36k air handler but the parts are identical. You can even Warranty Trane parts at an American Standard distributor.
Call if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Shawn

Do more research
Posted by hvacman on 11/25/2008
This is for mo-vegas1, you should do more research on products none of the components are the same as compairable companies b/c you cant compair it to any other brand trane and american-standard are different companies Trane is the only company that make their own compressors no other company does that. And the warranty is not the same all trane units have 10yr compressor warranties no matter what no other company has that you have to pay extra. So next time before writting a negative reveiw do more research.
Business Response
If you think Trane is the only manufacturer that offers a 10 year compressor warranty as standard then I think you need to do more research. - Mike

Proud of Product

I have tried several Trane & Am. Standard dealers in my area and they are always more expensive than comparable brands. Why? same warranty (if not less) & same components in otehr brands. They gotta pay for all the advertising they do and are always mighty proud of that name badge ($$$) if you ask me.
