Went to SF recently for some leisure time. Didn't realize there was a convention going on so motels and hotels were charging 100-200 dollars for very basic rooms. After all it is San Francisco where even Motel 6 charges a hundred bucks a night on a slow night. I had some coupons, you know the ones you get from fast food places in that yellow booklet. So I tried a place on Sutter (will remain nameless, however have learned since that several travellers say they have bed bugs!). They didn't honor the coupon and were quite rude about it. I was on foot since I took the train to SF and as night was falling I was wondering where the heck I was going to stay since most places I called were booked up due to this convention being in town. I called Royal Pacific Motor Inn and the guy that answered immediatley said he would honor the coupon. I ended up saving about 40 dollars from what everyone else was paying and got a decent clean room for the night. Not too bad and saved my canbig time.
