PRODUCTS & SERVICES:

Abortion Care, Abortion Care By Board-Certified Ob/Gyn Physicians, Abortion By Pill (Ru486),Gynecological Exams

Medical Abortion with RU486 (the abortion pill) is available for pregnancies up to 9 weeks from the start of the last menstrual period. With this method, a pill (Mifeprex) is given to stop the pregnancy and a second medicine (misoprostol) is given 2 days later to cause the pregnancy to be expelled. Except in rare cases, no surgical procedure is needed. If a surgical procedure becomes necessary, there will be no additional charge. The advantage of medical abortion is that you can avoid having a surgical procedure done. The disadvantage is that it is a slower process that occurs over a few days.

Surgical Abortion Services are available up to 22 weeks from the start of the last menstrual period, as determined by ultrasound in our office. Abortions are performed with your choice of local anesthesia (up to 12 weeks only), light sedation with an oral sedative, or intravenous sedation (twilight sleep).

Up to 12 week abortions are done in a single visit. You will be in the clinic for about 2 hours.

12 to 22 week abortions are done in a 2 step procedure. On the first day dilators will be placed in the cervix to gently and slowly open the cervix overnight. You will return the next day to have the procedure. This is the safest way to perform an abortion after 12 weeks. In some cases, especially after 19 weeks, the procedure may be done in a 3 step proc
