Poor service, smallest $4 cappucino in town
Posted by Cworld3 on 10/25/2009
We had high hopes for this place as we had just moved to the heights and DaCapos is a few blocks from our new place. When we received our $4 cappucinos in mugs, they were 20% beverage and 80% foam. Was this a joke? - less than an inch of cappucino in each mug - and these were not wide mugs. I approached the counter and kindly explained that the cappucinos seemed a little small, and could we please get more. The clerk began to argue with me - yes argue - and explain how she made the cappucino and how the size was justified. I asked again for more cappucino, neglecting to mention that across the street they are twice the size and cheaper. She finally returned to the table with slightly heavier drinks, but the lack of customer focus and the argumentative clerk had already made my muffin sour. I'll not be returning.

WIll be going back here again for future cakes....can't wait to try some of the other flavors!!

Killer cakes, great salads, friendly staff
Posted by washaveguy on 12/25/2007
Work up on Washington Ave. and looked for a new lunch joint. Had a great salad(adam and eve?) and Lisa made a great red velvet cake for my girlfriends bday. Staff is always nice and helpful. This is Houston's best kept secret. Try it out for yourself.

Cozy Cafe in the Heights
Posted by agonz1979 on 12/12/2007
This is the best cafe in the Heights so far! Everything on their menu that I've tried is exceptional. The staff there is very friendly. It's a very small cafe, but I highly recommend that you try it. Their Italian Cream Cake is the best! Please try it!!

We ordered this for our monthly birthday cake and it was the most amazing cake ever. It was moist and fresh. We had the banana split cake with strawberries, chocolate drizzle, and sugared pecans. I will never order another cake from anywhere else. They are THE BEST!!!

S-L-O-W but Good

Excellent food. Slow service. Small dining area. This place is more of a bakery than a restaurant. The food is very good, however.
