Looking for Jason!
Posted by BFlyWoman on 11/06/2009
I was referred a couple of years ago to Nikki's by some friends, but really wasn't impressed by the work or the attitudes. Since the place was close to where I lived, I'd still stop in occasionally to get jewelry and look around. That is how I found out that she had hired a new artist. I looked through his portfolio and was very impessed and after talking to him, I was completely assured that he could do what I was looking for. I've had 3 or 4 tattoos from Jason and each one has been better than the last. He really took his time and talked to me about what I was looking for. So now the problem. I stopped by a little while back to talk to him and set my next app't, only to be told that he was no longer there. When I asked what happened and if they knew where he was, I was completely blown off. VERY unproffessional. So, if anyone does know anything, could you post it on here? Thanks!

Nikki's Rocks

Staff is friendly and helpful; the artistry is top notch. Place is clean as can be and you'll be treated well. Friendly but very professional in all the requisite areas. They listen, take the time to do things right and really know their art/profession. I am one very satisfied customer. I've had 3 tattoos done to date from both Nikki and Stacy; I am very happy with the results.

Nikk is the best. She has done several tattoos for me. The original she did for me was a letter and after my divorce she did an awesome cover up for me. She has also done several for my son. I am getting ready for another tattoo and also my fiance is getting ready the get his first. I would not consider going anywhere but Nikki's, even though it\s an hour drive from my house. See you soon Nikki!

Amazing

I have been getting tattoo'd for 8 years and stuck with the same person for my first 6 until I moved out of state from Maine to North Carolina. I love my artist back home so much that I was very hesitant to go anywhere else. I was getting the itch to get another tattoo so I started to ask around, two people I worked with 3 years ago went to a place in Mooresville and their tattoos were really good so I checked out the guy they went to. He was really good and I felt comfortable with him, he took his work seriously and was very much a perfectionist, I went to him twice and got 3 tattoos. Then I found out he was a creep and was soliciting things from girls when they were alone in his room with him, I was never gonna go back there again but I was stuck, where would I go now? I asked around again and no one could give me a decent name so I researched for myself. I live in Salisbury and I looked at places within 2 hours of here because a good artist is worth the travel. I found Nikki's Tattoo Studio. I was so impressed with what I saw on her website that I called and asked when I could drive the hour down there just to show her some of the ideas I had. I had not planned on making any appointments or even deciding yes or no for sure whether I liked the place, I wanted to be sure it was the right place for me. I am looking for a keeper!! Well that day I found it. Nikki is not only spunky but she is AWESOME at what she does, she makes you feel comfortable and she is cool as hell. I am so not a "girls girl" but I love that the place is run by women. Nikki is very professional and she really knows her stuff. I went home so excited and impressed with everything I saw I called the next day and made an appointment for a week later. It is so convenient that I can make the appointment over the internet and can do all the paperwork from home and pay over the phone. I got my tattoo and not only was the work so incredible but the cost was so much less than I would have expected. I am so proud of my tattoo and can't wait for the summer to show it off to everyone. I recommend that everyone go see Nikki, she truly is amazing.

will never go anywhere else

My first visit was an absolute comfort zone from the time i walked in the door. I was greeted promptly and respectfully. I love the insightfullness and opinions of the staff. The outcome of my tattoo was awesome. Nikki did a fantastic job.
I came from Saint Louis Mo, to visit my sister for the holidays and went to several shops to get a cover up and was not pleased at all from the other locations just by their attitudes and non professionalism. Now I'm back in St. Louis and everyone loves my new tat, people are wanting to travel all the way to North Carolina to see Nikki just to get a tattoo. I think that's awesome.
Thanks a bunch.....Nikki & staff

TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL, CAPABLE & FRIENDLY
Posted by aliandahna on 12/16/2008
I'm mid-50's - it never occurred to me to want a tattoo. Back last summer I had a very magical dream - I. I contacted Nikki - emailed her with a description of what I had seen. She drew it out for me - we made a few changes here and there and I went in for my tattoo. It's EXACTLY what I envisioned. It's located on my back, right side ... I absolutely love it. She SAW my vision. Her studio is absolutely clean and professional. I was expecting lots of pain and it wasn't like that at all. Now I'm seeing Nikki's vision of adding to my to the art.... Nikki is wonderful and she certainly is an artist with a great talent.

Professional Work, Relaxed Atmosphere
Posted by SaintMartha7 on 11/05/2008
Nikki has been doing my work for about two years now. She did a rework for me that has taken time and patience on Nikki's part and mine. I can truly say I am very satisfied with how she reworked that certain area of my tattoo. Nikki has also done original work including a beautiful portrait of my grandchild who lived just a short time. She was very sensitive and in tune to how I wanted my grandson portrayed and I am forever grateful for the awesome job she did. Nikki and my husband, who is an artist, worked together to create my beautiful dragon tattooed on my thigh. And I have the most feminine skull tattoo on the planet thanks to Nikki. Nikki is definitely professional, and her atmosphere is indeed relaxed, but that makes my time with her much more fun and enjoyable.

RE: Poor Attitudes
Posted by RebelOne on 10/24/2008
I emailed Nikki before going to her shop. She invited me down to her shop to go over a large wildlife sleeve I wanted her to do ( mine you I live a good distance away). Like the reviewer I am responding to I also have about 10 tattoos so I am not new to the process. I told them when I arrived that i was there to see Nikki about wildlife sleeve. Nikki never come out to go over this at all NEVER. She was the one that said she was passionate about doing wildlife scenes but when I got there I was told Nikki wasn't interested in working on me..and she handed me off to her other tattooist, who wasn't interested in doing anything but quick flash type work and complaining about everything thats wrong in shop. Then a string of not so polite emails came back and forth, all lies...just to cover her and her shop...I did have a tattoo done that day and it came out good .... but the attitudes in her place of business was poor to say the least .. it was like only the beautiful people get tattooed by the great Nikki. Poor Poor Attitudes there!!! (Still have all the emails your nasty little tattooist send me Nikki!!!)
Business Response
I'd love for everyone to have an amazing positive experience @ my shop. Not possible in any business to please everyone all the time. When the news of this broke, my 1st email to this individual was "why didnt you ask for me, Im the one who specializes in wildlife"? I never got a response to that email,or any of the emails I sent trying to see what would make him happy.I did have to ask him to stop sending hate mail to my artist who he was not happy with. It was like he was obsessed. I did also offer to take this person as a client but from day one was set on interacting with the male artist at the shop. Maybe because often I do have a wait, but its never impossible to have me do any size or type of tattoo. You just have to request me and be patient. After developing a healthy following and client base-I am not going to appologize ever for being sought after. That is what any person providing personal services strives for. But I am sorry we could not make this person happy. - Nikki

Good work poor attitudes
Posted by ExtremeChick1982 on 09/21/2008
I was impressed with some of the work but the attitudes have to go, I had a lower back tattoo done came out okay but the tattoo artist I had complained the whole time of customers that came in and customers they have dealt with, which left a bad taste im my mouth for the studio. I have 8 tattoos so im not new to the experience of getting tatts but the artist also wanted to keep changing the design too, overall dont think I would go back there again.
