PROPER INSTALLATION IS EVERYTHING
Posted by kadetsr on 02/10/2010
The reviews listed here are NOT about GOODMAN HEATING & COOLING OF SAVANNAH MO ALSO SEVING THE ST. JOSEPH AREA.
I have been in business for 21 years and I highly recommend GOODMAN MFG EQUIPMENT LINE. You can NOT drain the Missouri River with a garden hose and if a heating & cooling installer tryies to move 4 tons of air through a 3 ton duct system your system WILL NOT work properly.
Businesses with integrity, knowledge and experiance are a MUST or your may be writing your own review and it might be about other brands of equipment as well. PROPER INSTALLATION IS A MUST NO MATTER WHAT BRAND YOU BUY!!!
By the way GOODMAN HEATING & COOLING OF SAVANNAH HAS INTEGRITY, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIANCE.

I am an HVAC dealer and totally agree with Micheal. All manufactures equipment needs to be bought and installed from a reputable dealer. You absolutlty HAVE to visit their shop before you buy from anyone. If you can't find them before the sale, what chance do you think you have of finding them after the sale? (hint- a pickup truck is not what you want to hear them say when you ask about their business location)

You will Need the Warranty!

This unit is very noisy. After 4 years the compressor went out. After 5 years the whole unit had to be replaced. Not a good value.

the Blue Collar furnace
Posted by heatingco1 on 06/27/2008
We've been installing Goodman furnaces for 13 years. We've installed several other brands, and have serviced many more. We've grown to prefer Goodman for many reasons. They are easy to install and repair. They cost much less than Trane, Carrier or Lennox but if properly installed and maintained they can perform and last as long or longer than the big brands. They have been rated # 3 in the industry. Goodman Mfg. is always improving themselves and their products. Their warranty is possibly the best around. Unlike the big names, Goodman dealers aren't required to "buy in" with an inventory, so instead of needing to move our stock, we can procure exactly the right model for each project. We have many satisfied Goodman owner customers and we're proud to back our Goodman installations with a 1 year Labor warranty. I call Goodman the Blue Collar furnace because it works harder, at an affordable price.

Reliability & quality issues
Posted by hvac1010 on 04/29/2008
After 18 years of experience doing service & repair, I have found this brand to be the least reliable (a big hassle & discomfort for the consumer - even if the equipment is under a limited warranty - even after the manufacturer redesigned their entire line) - Also I have recently seen major quality control problems from the manufacturer with equipment right out of the box. In my professional opinion, the consumer would be better served to look at other options.

Great warranties
Posted by cb123baker54 on 02/21/2008
I'm a big fan of this product and recommend it highly. All products come with a 10yr compressor and parts warranty, not to mention a life-time compressor warranty on some models. Kewl Aire ac & heating do a great job.

Goodman Good but J an J Heating & Cooling in Battle Creek Bad
Posted by msujrfan on 10/17/2007
Goodman refused to let me talk to anyone above the Customer Service Rep on the phone.
This company knowingly kept charging my family more money to fix a Goodman Furnace that had a recall. I took them to small claims and didn't win because it was a voluntary recall. The court acknowledged that they didn't understand the logic of the company not to fixing it under the recall, but couldn't do anything because of it being voluntary. This company charged me over $1200 for a furnace that had a $850 recall. So do you really want someone like this doing work in your house.
They will rip you off just like they did me. My family spent many nights without heat waiting for parts to be shipped in, when we should have only spent a couple waiting for a new unit. Thanks a lot J and J Heating and Cooling.

Business Response
Goodman equipment, or any equipment for that matter, when purchased over the internet has NO warranty. Additionally dealers for all equipment are only required to provide a 1 year labor warranty. To avoid this customers situation, be sure the dealer you select provides all warranty information in writing before you pay. Be sure they are a certified dealer by visiting the manufacturers website, regardless of brand. If an extended labor warranty is available at a reasonable cost, purchase it, it is no different than auto or home warranties. It sounds like this customer went for the cheapest route and got burned, this furnace would have been covered under warranty with or without a recall had it been purchased and installed by an actual Goodman Dealer. The cost of this installation would be close to 3 times what was paid. Check your contractors with the CCB, make sure they are a dealer at the manufacturers website, and get warranty information and coverage up front. - Michael

My new Goodman AC is remarkable quiet and cools my home even on the hottest days. I am very pleased with this system and was very impressed with the local Goodman company as well. Very reasonably priced.
