First time tattoo...great experience

I lost my wedding ring and wanted to get something a little harder to lose :) However, I am not creative at all...so I had no idea what to get done. I did some research online and found all the great reviews for Purple Lotus. I went in and Shavon was great. She listened to my few crazy ideas and let me know what would and would not work. She ended up designing me one herself which looks awesome and adverted my fears that I would end up with something girly looking on my finger :) I love it...my wife loves it...and everybody is happy. Overall a great experience. Not sure I'm interested in more tattoos, but I wouldn't definitely go back here for it.

Shavons's Purple Lotus Body Art is an excellent establishment with friendly and extremely skilled artists.
I would have to say that this is a place where anyone can go and feel comfortable and confident about the body art they wish to attain. There is no "Riff Raff" to contend with...just friendly artists and customers that treat you like family with a strong desire to help you get the perfect body art that will last a lifetime.
You will not be disappointed with the exceptional quality of art you will receive here.

the best tattoo i have ever gotten...if you want a tattoo this is the place to go..there is no where else period!!!....i enjoyed my tattoo experience so much...the people there are so kind and they feel like family after being there for like 30 mins..it is crazy....
MUST GO PLACE!!

I went to Purple Lotus to get one of the most intricate tattoos that I have on my body. Its also one of the most personal. Not only did she do the research on every symbol on my charm anklet...she also put it together in such a way that I never expected. Everyone there is sooooooooo sweet as well naturally concerned with my comfort.
I am extremely satisfied. Shavon puts so much energy into giving you what you are asking for and exceeding those requests. The energy in her shop and in her heart is evident. Her positivity that she inputs as she is doing your art in incomparable. I will be going back for all of my tattoos as well as sending my friends!
I have never been so satisfied with my body art!

First Tattoo

This was my first tattoo.I read and reviewed all the salons in Columbia area.I didn't want to go to Georgia.We took our 18 year old daughter to get hers there and it was not what I was expecting unorganized and had to wait 30 minutes on the tattoo person.
I wanted my first tattoo to be special and not scary.My husband and I went to the shop first a month in advance and looked around talked to the owners and the lady that I wanted to do my tattoo.I told her I wanted 3 and where I wanted them at.I also told her I was a department manager and did not want to have to wear long sleeves all the time to cover it up.I had drawn a picture of a idea of what I wanted,she looked at it and was honest and told me that it didn't suit my personality and would design one close to it and send it through email she did and I was totally amazed.
On tattoo day she called me and asked was I still coming,when I arrived we signed papers and she told me everything she was going to do.
My tatto is beautiful and I am so excited and amazed.
Shavon had pulled a muscle getting out of the showder the morning of my tattoo and she still did my tattoo. She is a true professional and had a beautiful shop.Her husband is great and supportive they make a great life and business couple.
Please if you want a tattoo, go see them. She tells you what you need after your tattoo and when to come back so she can make sure that it is healing and do touch ups if needed.

The shop is always very welcoming and clean. The tattoo rooms are separated from each artist so it's not cluttered and you get the feeling that you can just relax while getting your work done. All of the employees are very nice and are more than willing to give advice if you have questions on color or size of a piece. The ink is high quality and the tattoos heal nicely and quickly. Don't expect to get flash from this shop! They are custom designs and those designs are fantastic!
Best service and work in Columbia, SC! The inside is very inviting and decorated along an asian theme which just makes the shop even more inviting and fantastic to sit in!

Purple Lotus: part 2

After the shaving and sterilization of my arm, the ink was selected, and i was instructed to lay on my side. Shavon is witty and sarcastic, yet dedicated, and her antics nearly negated the pain as an enjoyable distraction. At about 3 hours, I realized that I would have to depart for work and Shavon was very respectful of my urgency. Seventy percent of the tattoo was finished and Shavon scheduled another appointment for me to complete the Tattoo as quickly as possible. The Tattoo, at least, the portion that was finished, was highly detailed, highly colorful, and a piece of beautiful art emblazoned on skin canvas. She transformed the dull, lifeless, and simple outline into an exciting, flourishing, and complex Tattoo. As I was in a rush, Shavon walked me through the aftercare as quickly yet thoroughly as she could. I payed the entire installment and was headed towards the door when Shavon said goodbye with a caring hug and words of safe travel (it was raining heavily and the Purple Lotus is located downtown). I am extremely satisfied with my Tattoo and will recommend the Purple Lotus to any of my friends and acquaintances looking for a tattoo and a professional who would "Ink" them. Excellent atmosphere, Professional Staff, and Outstanding Service elevate the Purple Lotus to the highest tier of Body Art Boutiques. Great Job guys and keep up the good work!!!

I was slightly skeptical upon my arrival at the Purple Lotus. A man at the shoe store said good things about the place and when i decided to get my tattoo (scarab with wings) filled in, I considered and eventually made my choice the Purple Lotus with an indecisive iota of doubt. The doubt subsided a bit as I pulled into the driveway across the street and approached the Parlor. An atmosphere was set immediately as I approached the door, which read, "Please Remove Shoes Before Entering," a common custom relative to the Orient. The interior was adorned with fascinating pieces, reliefs, masks, figurines, and the entire gamut of Eastern artifacts. As I was welcomed by the staff behind the counter, I divulged my quandary regarding the outline and my intention to fill the design. The skilled hands and eager eyes surveyed and scanned my outline, critiquing the previous tattoo artist (if she can even be considered as such) and considered, at lengths, the many tangible ways to improve and expand upon the initial design to, not only adequately, but surpassingly beautify and embellish the original piece. After about 2 minutes, Shavon, the "Queen" of the Boutique, had thrown a plethora of ideas in my direction and had already drawn up an estimate. Swept up in the possibilities, I eagerly listened to what I consider a "professional opinion" on the current state of my outline (which was sloppy and inadequate, not following the design scheme and deviating in unnecessary places). After the estimate was drawn, i made an appointment, with great ease and comfortability I might add, as I am obliged to work on the weekends and attend college during the week, and was on my merry way. I felt far more comfortable upon my arrival on the day of the appointment and Shavon was busy at the time of my 1:00 appointment. One of her appointments carried over into mine, yet, I respected Shavon's dedication to her individual clients. The other employees suggested I sit and make myself comfortable, which I did, and there were many interesting books to pass the time until Shavon's appointment with her client was complete. At about 1:30, my patience was beginning to waver when Shavon and her client emerged from the curtained room at my left. The client and her acquaintance appeared extremely satisfied and Shavon walked them through the aftercare procedures. Seeing the satisfaction of her client sent an infectious vibe of excitement down my spine and I forgot about the slight tardiness of my appointment. Immediately after her other clients departed, Shavon surveyed my arm once more with a half grimace. She scanned the arm and I noticed a gleam in her eyes that put all of my doubts and worries away.

Well....the Purple Lotus strikes again! Shavon did yet another beautiful work of art; Alex did an amazing praying hands on my husband's arm. And just like Shavon promised, it looks like you could shake those hands they look so real! Great job! You have sold another family on your creativity! Shavon, I can't wait to get in there to see what you can do with my ankle. We are in love!!!!
