Decent sushi, decent price
Posted by gwyllion on 07/06/2008
I didn't have any complaints. The service was excellent and the sushi was good. I've had better and I've had worse. I'd go back.

Best and Most Affordable in Denver
Posted by denverdave on 03/19/2008
Sonoda's sushi is fresh, delicious, and affordable. I've been to the expensive sushi restaurants in Denver, but think that Sonoda's is every bit as good... at half the price!

Just okay.

We made 7pm reservations and were not seated until 8pm. Our waitress wasn't the most friendliest...I won't go back. The food...um, just okay.

Sickening Sushi
Posted by skingirl on 03/19/2007
Service was fine, but food was horrible! Woke up sick the next morning. So did all my friends. Wouldn't go back if you paid me too

Good prices, not so good sushi
Posted by mitchy17 on 03/01/2007
Just went there a couple of nights ago and I think the sushi quality has gone down. We used to get decent sushi for the price (never has been the best sushi) but it must have been an off night. The sushi tasted old and the rolls were poorly made. 2 for 1 hot sake was the best part of the night. If you are going out for sushi night go some where else that may be a little more pricey but it will be worth the extra money.

I don't recommend it
Posted by prettyhot on 12/29/2006
The sushi here is not very good. I don't eat raw fish so I can't comment on the quality of fish. But, every vegetarian and cooked sushi order Ive had here has not been good. The rice is overcooked, and the rolls are below average. The lava roll was doused on spicy mayo and filled with too much cream cheese-too much in fact that I had to push it out of the roll.
The chicken teriyaki was an unimpressive breast of chicken w/teriyaki sauce-and overcooked vegetables. I didn't like the tempura.
Ive eaten here about 6 times only b/c its down the st. from my house.
I wont go here again. Gross.

Great Denver Sushi
Posted by russiandianka on 07/21/2005
Excellent sushi at all of there location. Does not matter if you are in downtown, park meadows or aurora. Service is good. Definitely sometimes you will have to wait to be seated, and décor is not upscale. Yes, it will cost you; if you like sushi, but you not in Macdonald what do you expect. I traveled all over the world, and for Colorado area I can say with confidence, BEST SUSHI!

YUM!
Posted by jillywilly on 11/26/2004
I like this place, we prefer to sit at the sushi bar. It is a little cold and sterile but in the summer this is a great little place. I only eat cooked sushi and here is what I recommend: Unagi, Shrimp Tempura Roll, California roll, Spider roll and our VERY favorite: Catapillar Roll ( to DIE for!!!!) We've tried other places but this place has the freshest crab and eel. The drinks are great as is the sake. Get the house salad too, the dressing is heaven!

Urban Sushi
Posted by harddriv on 05/14/2004
The service was friendly but slow last Friday evening. The edamame was a little bland. The beef-wrapped scallions were tasty and the gyoza was very good. I don't recommend the "magic mushrooms"; they were interesting, but in a bad way. The tempura came out piping hot and was tasty, but the grouper special last night lacked significant flavor. The decor here is rough. Kind of like eating in a bus station. The fish tanks are interesting, especially the one that contains live Piranhas. This place is okay, but I wouldn't be in a big rush to go back there.

Still the Best
Posted by theairdog on 01/25/2004
For overall value and experience, Sonoda's still beats Sushi Den. The food is good and reasonably priced as befits one of the better Sushi restaurants.
Happy hour is a good deal if you want to save money.
