    Hurricane on the Bayou

Posted by Marian V. on 08/11/2007

I was on a Mission Trip with a group from my church the week of July 30th and saw Hurricane on the Bayou. What a wonderful and enlightening experience to see this wonderful film on the Mississippi Delta area of our United States. You are made to fell like you are part of the performance. I am so glad that I got to go to New Orleans to help build at least one person's home. It was an experience I will never forget.

    See Hurricane on the Bayou!

Posted by Jeff R. on 09/11/2006

We were fortunate to be visiting New Orleans in September 2006 just after the new IMAX movie, Hurricane on the Bayou, had premired. The movie tells the story of Hurricane Katrina's impact on the bayou, and it shows how the erosion of the bayou swamps is erasing the natural hurricane protection system around New Orleans. The movie is excellent and it will motivate you to look for ways to improve the natural environment in the Mississippi River delta. The IMAX theater itself was very nice (and air conditioned!).

One of a kind, huge 3d screen

Posted by Ben B. on 08/20/2005

The IMAX theater has been a family favorite for 10 years now, since it opened next door to the wonderful Aquarium of the Americas. The theater boasts a flat, high definition screen over five stories tall, which can project 3d images from the films into the audience. The films available are usually nature films shot around the world, of many different types of animals.

    Awesome Imax....

Posted by Lynette B. on 07/13/2005

The Imax theater is built so that no matter where one sits you can see the picture without the bobbing head action to try to see the pic. It's especially fantastic when it shows a 3d movie. The screen makes you feel as if you are floating with the movie. Handicapped accessible.
