Thank you, Pooch Pad!
Posted by RachelHartig on 07/01/2009
I am admittedly an over-protective pet parent. Jonathan (my 3 year old poodle) has never been boarded and only professionally groomed once. I was worried about my baby and felt guilty leaving him all day?.that being said, as soon as I walked through the gate at the Pooch Pad, happy dogs were playing in the yard, and Dawn immediately let Jonathan play with the other small pups. He was running around and having so much fun that he didn?t even notice I was leaving. I picked him up around 5, and he looks absolutely beautiful?like a teddy bear?and he?s so worn out from all the playing that he?s been sleeping ever since we got home. I will definitely be using the Pooch Pad in the future. Thank you for taking good care of Jonathan and for taking the time to ease my concerns.

I have two Bichons who stay at Pooch Pad regularly. (And before I found them, my girls had stayed all over Pearland) My girls love Pooch Pad !! I know because when I head to the car with their pillows, they know where they are going and they get SOOOOOO excited. They always run to greet the workers which tells me a LOT ! Very kind & loving care!

These folks are amazing!! When my golden was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer, he got sick and had to be hospitalized with a gastrointestinal problem, the details of which CitySearch doesn't want you to hear (probably just as well). He came home from the hospital with a VERY odd clip and filthy. He was itchy and miserable and these very nice ladies gave him a bath and evened up his haircut. They dried him a few minutes at a time and gave him lots of rest periods. When they were done he felt better. I can't thank them enough. Who wouldn't want their dog cared for by these kind and gentle people?

Great place. There grooming services are wonderful. My dog is very high strung and they are sensitive to him. It is clear that these people love animals and run their place accordingly. I highly reccomend Pooch Pad.

Loving care for your animals

This is a great facility. I love that it is family owned and run. They have great grooming services and my baby (four legged), is'nt afraid to go there. I can see by the way he acts when I pick him up that they have given him love and care.

Wonderful place for grooming and doggy day care!!!

I have been taking my westie, Winston here for a few months now, and he is always super excited when he realizes where we are going. He used to be terrified of the groomer ( and he's usually fearless). I love the cage-free atmosphere and he alway comes home relaxed for the evening. He stays out of trouble for at least the next week. I also like his haircut the best of any place I have ever taken him. I will continue to take him here as often as possible and highly recommend The Pooch Pad.

Fabulous all around from Daycare to cuts!!!!

I have been taking my dog to The Pooch Pad for 3 months now for Daycare and Grooming. As soon as i turn the corner coming there it's like he knows where he's going. Jack gets so excited and can't wait to get out of the car to play. The staff is very nice and always helping with any questions that you may have. The Groomer ask you EXACTLY what you would like and very much EXCEED expectations. I highly recommend any one looking for Daycare and a professional groomer. Way to go Pooch Pad!!!

The best groomer around!!
Posted by kalac on 09/20/2008
I have a shih tzu and i was hesitant to take her anywhere because i've had a previous bad experience with a different Groomer. I was very pleased with the staff and how friendly they are. I found out that they give a half day free of daycare for your first visit with a groom or bath, which i thought was awsome. So, my dog got to play and socialize with other dogs before her groom. When i got her back she wasn't shaking, she was relaxed and i loved her cut (Thanks Elaine!!). I walked away feeling rejuvenated and fresh, i will definently keep in touch for future appointments.

Nice grooming, but staff is apathetic.

I've taken my dog here approximately five times and never had an issue. If you don't like the way your dog's hair is cut, the groomer will fix it. No problem. She's really nice and friendly. I liked this place, because it is kennel-free and they let the dogs run around and have fun. This was great, since they ask you to bring in your dog before 10 am and won't return your dog to you until after 5 pm. Generally, you don't have to pay for doggy day care if you brought your dog in for a grooming. Which is the way it should be, since no other groomer's charge a "pet-sitting" fee. However, my last visit, they decided to charge me $15 on top of what I normally pay for my dog's grooming. They said it was because my dog was in there for doggy day care as well. I can't help that, since they require to leave your dog there all day and now they're forcing you to pay for extra service. After calling to express my concern, the lady (most likely the owner) just said "Sorry" and hung up on me. That's poor customer service, if you ask me. So if you decide to take your dog here, make sure you confirm the price up front or they will pull a fast one on you.

When I arrived, there were happy dogs out front and happy little dogs inside. However, I have 2 Yorkies and one is a bit scared of other dogs. I don't know if he's anti-social or what. When I came to pick them up, Rocky looked amazing and Rambo needed a bit of an adjustment on his hair cut. Still didn't like it much, but his hair grows back so quickly it didn't matter. She told me he was hiding in the corner all day. My thought was just, why didn't you try to make him feel better? I like the no kennels though. Rocky had a blast! Oh! One more thing. There was a cut on Rambo's leg. It was just a small cut, but I'd appreciate it if I were informed rather than finding it out at home.
