Wonderful Day Trip

The Amicalola State Park is a beautiful area with a lot to do. It is the site of the Southern Terminus Access Trail which begins the Appalachian trail to Maine, so it's a great place for hikers. For people who like an easy walk, or for those of us with kids, the walk to the top of the Falls is fun. Be forewarned, there are a lot of stairs. My 4 year old handled them just fine.
