    Poor Service, Bad Attitudes

    I DO NOT RECOMMEND. Here is my experience. Poor Service, okay food, too expensive for what you get. Bad attitudes. Our visit on November 20, 2008. There were only two or three small tables at the time. We were there to celebrate my husband?s 40th birthday. We waited and waited for a drink order and food order. The server was extremely slow and was not friendly or personable. In fact no one in the restaurant was helpful or friendly at any time during our almost two hour dinner. We had terrible service and the food was only okay. My husband got cold food from the kitchen on a re-order because it sat there until our server could retrieve it. We asked a female server to check on the order since we had not seen our waiter in ten minutes. She told us the food was ready in back but our ?server was busy with a big table and would get it to us as soon as he could.? She did not offer to bring out the food or talk with manager to see if someone else could run out the plate to our table. We had to wait for our check and our drinks throughout the evening. There were very few people in the restaurant besides the ?big party.? The manager did not speak to us despite our obvious service issues until we had sent the check back with a coupon. She then rudely told us we could not use the coupon based on our order of all you can eat crab legs despite there being no sign indicating this or anything on the table or menu explaining this ?policy.? I then asked if she would split the ticket and put the crab legs on a separate ticket so that we could use the coupon on the other ticket based on the horrible service we had received that evening. She did not even apologize for our poor service but basically said she did not care what had happened. She refused to split the ticket as well. She and the server then kept the coupon after my mother paid with her credit card. I have never encountered such bad attitudes in a service related restaurant.

    Bland seafood

    We decided to try the Charleston Crab House on our anniversary. It was a Big mistake. First came a basket of cold hush puppies. Then a salad - grocery store iceberg lettuce, huge slices of cucumber, you get the picture. I had pasta with scallops and shrimp. Bland bland bland. I could have prepared some frozen shrimp at home and enjoyed them more. My husband's shrimp and grits were slightly better, but not great. Service was nominal. The restaurant just doesnt live up to its name.
