Had to Picket this location

My wife and I went here to adopt a dog since the last dog we owned died due to old age. She was a mix Chow and Husky that lived with our family for over 12 years. When we came to SPCA we had high hope and found a dog we liked. He was only a puppy but after several visits to SPCA we found THIS dog to be our favorite. We made a strong attempt to bring the dog home, but we were held up in the adoption process for what I felt was nothing more than blatant racism. We looked for another Black, Hispanic, or Asian employee but none to be found. After several attempts to show our love for this dog was sincere, we were again turned away by management. THIS LEAD TO MY PROCESS FOR ACQUIRING ALL PICKETING PERMITS by Garner Police Department. I PICKETED THIS LOCATION for 3mos due to what our family suffered as blatant racism towards our family since our skin was dark. I MAY CONSIDER PICKETING AND PROTESTING THIS LOCATION AGAIN in 2009. It is a shame that these people would prefer that the dogs, puppies, pets be put to sleep before they let loving families adopt these dogs, puppies, pets. There should be a law to make sure SPCA is investigated and not seeking to keep any animal as their own personal pets.
