Jamal is the owner/operator of this two chair business and his dedication to his craft is second to none. 7 days a week you can find the affable Jamal doing what he truly enjoys in his cozy jazz filled shop. The end product is something he takes tremendous pride in and my girlfriend always says I look great. Haircuts are $30, and I usually schedule appointments. I am definitely going to try a shave soon!

Best Men's Grooming Shoppe in Center City

I first visited 2B Groomed last month for the first time and had an amazing grooming session and conversation with the owner. The atmosphere of the shop is amazing and very relaxing. I went on a break from work and have to say that I felt incredible afterward. The whole 2B experience makes you forget about whatever has been bothering you since it is so peaceful and inviting inside. I just recently had my second cut from Mary who also works at the shop and again I was blown away by the great cut and conversation that I was able to have. It's not too often that you find a stylist/barber that will take their time on your haircut like they do at 2B. If you are looking for a new place to get a great cut at a reasonable price, I strongly recommend 2B Groomed. They also offer a full range of services other than haircuts which I will definitely be taking advantage of in the future.

Best Haircut I've ever Had!

My brother is a hairstylist and he's been cutting my hair for many years. He's moving to another state so i needed a new barber and was very anxious and upset about the whole process but i found 2B Groomed on Citisearch and decided to give it a try. I made the right decision for sure! B.J. actually cut my hair a little bit better than my brother does it, which is a great compliment to her. It's a warm, friendly atomosphere mixed with a professional attitude. So to sum up; Excellent cut, Excellent service, and i booked my next appointment right away when my haircut was done.

My new barber and new friend

I'm from South Philly and would go to the same barber since highschool. After my coming out, things changed. I would feel awkward when serviced due to my sexuality, I am gay. I was told of 2 B Groomed by a friend who works at a local club on 13th street. The hair chef (barber),Jamal, made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. My haircut looked as good as a presentation from a five star restaurant. Delicious!. In summary...well done. Jamal was comfortable with me and helped me relax when I became anxious. He is a gentle, easy going and patient soul. Not only do I have a new barber but also a new friend. I will tell all of my gay friends about him. You go boy!!! We love you.

After reading CitySearch reviews, I called 2B Groomed and made an appointment for the same day. I'm usually nervous about trying a new barber, but Jamal was great on the phone and I decided to give it a try. And I'm very glad I did. It's a small, understated yet stylish shop...warm and inviting.
Jamal was instantly personable and professional, and made me feel very comfortable. While I felt like I was chatting with a friend, I also thought I was talking with a barber who was actually listening to what I had to say. We spent time talking about what I wanted and then he went to work. There was nothing rushed about this cut...Jamal seems very meticulous about his work, and it shows.
Friends say it's the best cut I've gotten in a long time (was it that bad before??). But I agree. It's a great, flattering cut. A few people writing reviews have moaned about prices, but I think they're very reasonable (actually a bargain for a cut of this quality). A barber I like and trust after the first visit...I'm definitely going back.

Shaving in Style

As a visitor from Germany I was very glad to have my first American shaving experience at Jamal's barber shop "2B Groomed". This quaint little 2 chair shoppe really does everything right. The interior has a style from a previous era, the Jazz music is soothing, Jamal and his staff give you a warm welcome. The actual shaving experience is quite the indulgence. The hot steamy towels feel good on the face, and the oils and other products are all very high end and smell wonderful! Jamal is quite the perfectionist. You might think he's done, but he will go hunting down the last little hair and stubble. I walked out of there with smooth skin, smelling good, looking good. I am a very satisfied customer!

I tried out 2b groomed a few days ago. It was a nice experience. I felt like VIP when i got there. i didnt have to wait in a long line of people. i came in and was served within 5 minutes of waiting. it was very professional and comfortable. Nice calming music, and confident staff. I cant remember the last time i got a haircut like this. Jamal knows how to pick his crew. I like how they do appointments and walk -ins. its great to know when i get there that im ready to jump in the chair on arrival. if i tell the barbers im in a little bit of a hurry, they move faster for me but still get the same result. All in all its a great location, i give it my 2 thumbs up.

I grew up in Society Hill and moved back to Philly after living in DC and found Jamal and 2B Groomed upon my return. One could not ask for anything more in a barber. The guys nail the haircut, no matter the client, on the first try, and you look great even without a grow in period after your cut. Jamal, the owner proprietor is always on site, is extremely personable and always makes sure his clients get the best quality experience. But 2B Groomed is about more than just a haircut, it is an embodiment of an ideal about style and appearance. The shop, and its barbers, are about keeping every man in the sleek, fresh looks that compliment their attitudes and ages. 2B Groomed is the place to be if you take your style seriously or if you are transitioning into professional life where appearance is highly valued. I would recommend Jamal and 2B Groomed to anyone because I know they will have the same positive experiences that I have.

The owner Jahmal Rhaney is my older brother. I've seen him go from cutting hair in our bedroom to having his own shop. He's been cutting my hair my whole life and never have i heard anything negative about the way I look. He is the best barber in Philadelphia along with his great staff members, Mary and BJ. There are no other barber shops in Philadelphia like this one. If you dont believe me, look for yourself. The shop is always clean as well as the instruments that the stylist use. Service is excellent! However you picture yourself with a certain hair style, they'll make that image appear in real life. Everybody that I've seen go in the shop, comes out looking and feeling better than ever. It is the ultimate experience.
