I just moved to Philly and called a few salons in the midst of a hair color disaster after picking up some Feria (liars) from Walgreens. My hair was a horrible black (the hardest color to get out) and I desperately just wanted to be a brunette again. The folks at DNA immediately handed the phone to Tim who talked me through it and told me to come in that afternoon for a consultation. I went in a few days later for the full color correction treatment and Tim gave me exactly what I was looking for. I'm back to being a brunette and he even gave me a conditioning treatment for free. The staff is excellent - friendly and professional. The price was way less than expected. But when it comes down to it - i feel amazing!! Tim and everyone at DNA did a fabulous job. Thank you to all of them. There is a reason they were chosen as the best in Philly by Elle Magazine!!

Was recommended to dna salon by a coworker and it was a great experience. The salon is great and Maryanne gave me the best color and highlights. 5 stars to the salon and Maryanne, they made me feel very welcome. Front desk manager was very professional and cordial, like the accent.

DnA Salon has professional - well-educated hair stylists in the heart of Northern Liberties -
Located right in Liberties Walk - the stylists provide great educational tips to clients teaching them how to make hair look its best. They offer wonderful hair and scalp treatments and the salon has one of the top colorists in Philadelphia: Tim Nork.
The salon owners, Angi and Derek, hence the name DnA, are dedicated and welcoming to all clients that walk through the door - Angi and Derek are also very active members of the Northern Liberties neighborhood which adds to the culture and sophistication of the salon.
As someone who has had my hair cut in some of the top-rated salons in New York and Chicago - I can honestly say I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the salon -

No phone call!

I called DNA Salon on Tuesday to schedule a first time appointment for an up-do this Saturday with Cassie. The person I spoke to said he would need to call me back. It is now Thursday and still no call back. I checked my voicemail and caller id and nothing says DNA Salon. I thought with all the good reviews on City Search, I'd give them a try since the salon I normally go to was booked. Good thing, I was able to schedule an appointment with another salon in the city. First impressions count and they failed in that department. I can't rate the salon on the way they do hair, so as far as customer service, I would have to say bad! very bad!

Great cut, loved it there

I went today for the first time as a walk-on. I called them and left a message. Someone called me back in a few hours. I was going to fix a horrible cut I got someplace else. Everyone was so friendly and they did an awesome job on my hair. I also got a wonderful head massage during the shampoo/conditoner time. The salon is very clean and chic. The music wasn't so loud and I was able to carry on a conversation with the stylist. I absolutely loved them and would use them regularly again. Just keep in mind they are on the expensive side but it's worth every penny.

Heard about the fake post and had to write. The salon is wonderful and the staff are very polite and talented. I have been a client for 2 years and live around the corner from the salon in Northern Liberties for 10years, and know the salon very well.
I spoke with the owners and they know who posted the prior fake post. Has nothing to do with the salon, it's a really jealous spouse and not even a client. I guess all this salon drama comes with the territory.
Keep up the good work, DNA Salon. You are an asset to Northern Liberties.

great stylist, noisy salon!

I had my hair cut and colored at DNA salon, I had to ring a few times to get an appointment, as the phone went to voice mail, but I persisted as I had been recommended by a friend of mine in NY who had had Charles do her hair and loves it. He was wonderful, patient and attentive, and I left the salon thrilled with my hair. The salon is unbelievably noisy. The music is some alternative rock; very punky and so so loud it can be heard over the dryers. I wanted to relax. My hair looks great, but I couldn?t enjoy the experience because of the noise! Oh and also, the receptionist had a bad attitude, no eye contact! I am not sure why? The trashcan sat overflowing!

called 4 times and no response

First I would like to say it is hard to rate a salon that refuses to provide service. I called and asked to speak to Rick regarding hair extensions. I was told he would call me back. I called a total of 4 times and still no return call. I was willing to commute 2 hrs and drop a pretty penny for the service. Being in the spa industry for ten years I can not understand how this slipped threw the cracks. 4 times!!! I quess it just wasn't meant to be!!

Best hair salon

I was visiting in Phily and going to a wedding.
Wnated to get my hair done, blowdry and a cut. I do have very fine hair, frizzy ... very hard to handle.
I came out with beautifull straight hair that latsted for few days and a nice hair cut.
The stylist was so attentive to my request and directions. I am quite picky with my hair.
The managment was pampering me with drinks and making me confortable.
It was a joyfull experience for someone from out of town. I was treated like I was regular customer.
