this place was great... I dont know what those other reviews are all about. Yea Its back down an ally and yea there is alot of concerts there so guys unloading a truck is probable. But i bet ya that those reviews were from people who were raised in LA. The food was great, we had the NY Strip and the Sea Bass, wow does the cook know what he is doing, the dining area is great, the service was great, and the drinks are great. The service and the food were the best that I have had in all of LA yet. To top it off the server we had was so hot, he looked like leonardo.

    Hollywood hideaway

People don't know about this gem because there's no street presence on Vine. But once you've walked down the alley and entered the restaurant, you're in for a surprise. The room has huge black banquettes, crystal chandeliers... it's amazing. There's a cozy bar and the drinks are stiffies. And the food was great, we had the spinach dip, the buttermilk infused crispy chicken and the apple crisp. OH MY GOD!!! Delicious! Our waiter was attentive and friendly - and hott. The pre-Wicked crowd packs the place before a show, but the place empties out after the Wicked crowd heads for the Pantages. Then you have the whole place to yourself. But not long, after the word gets out.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS!!!

Like the user above, we arrived while men were unloading a huge truck of supplies, but we got there at six instead of eight. I made reservations as a nice place to eat before seeing "Wicked" since the website said they had a pre-fixed "Wicked" menu. They confirmed my reservation over the phone, but when I got there with my party, they couldn't find it and tried to make me believe I had never made the reservation, even though I had made it the night before. They said they could seat my party of five immediately, but had to kick us out within 45 minutes, which isn't even enough time to eat. Mind you, at this point, we were the only customers in the entire resturaunt. THERE WAS NOT ONE OTHER SINGLE PERSON THERE!!! The host and the manager were not accomodating at all, and incredibly rude, making me feel like an idiot, even though I had a reservation. We decided not to stay since they needed to "kick us out" without giving us any time to eat or enjoy. I WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE AGAIN!!!!!! This definitely fits into the ridiculous and overpriced Hollywood resturaunt category. I'm actually really glad we didn't get to stay.

8PM and It is BOOMING with noise from above!!!!

    Posted by debfabfood on 05/27/2006

I love finding new places and was so looking forward to Honey. Made an 8PM reservation, had to pay $15.00 to park because there was no valet, had to walk down the smelly alleyway while 5 guys were unloading a truck of supplies that we had to walk over and then sat down to what was to be a nice dinner. The place was empty and the only sound was this REALLY LOUD heavy bass booming from above!!!! REALLY LOUD and it shook the table!!! So much for Honey. It was so completely annoying that we left without so much as ordering a drink. If you are going to go, wear earplugs and be prepared to feel like you are in Jurassic Park! I can understand the noise later in the evening when the Spider Club is open, but not at 8 PM.
