Horrible Place - Do not join
Posted by Trojans on 08/27/2009
DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. I was a member for a about 1 1/2 years. i always paid my dues on time. when i cancelled mgmt had the nerve to tell me that i still owed them next month dues and my last payment i made when i joined will pay for the 2 month after i cancelled. that is ridiculous. 1 entire year after i ended my membership i was sent to collections without notice. gold's told me they sent me invoices. i never received an invoice. it's funny how i got everyone else's mail but gold's. you might be treated like royalty when you join but the gym is money hungry. the only care about the bottom line. when i started receiving calls from a collection agency i called gold's gym and spoke to the accounting mgr. said she will look into the matter. 1 week went by and i never heard from her. the most upsetting part was the collection agency was charging me more than double of the monthly fee i did not pay. I know that the economy has sunk and everyone is struggling but this is low. charging ex members more than what is owed just to get ahead. save yourself the time and money and go elsewhere. gold's contract states that they need a 30 day cancellation. from this ordeal they need 60 days. the accounting office must be understaff and not have enough time to cancel payments or the staff isnt competent to deal with this.

Great Gym

I really like this Golds Gym; it has great, new equipment and is super clean. Unlike the previous posting, I like that I can open the window in front of me as I run on the treadmill. Who doesn't get hot when they are working out? The only qualm I have with this gym is they practically stalk you when your membership is nearly up.

Bad Gym
Posted by cliffordreid on 04/02/2007
This is the only gym where the members can open the windows, which lead to problems in the winter and summer.
In the winter you are working out in a very cold gym. You usally break out in a cold sweat and sick after a week. The cardio machines and windows are on the west side of the gym and the memebers will open the windows, while on the cardio machines, then walk away, when they get cold. No one closes the windows unless it gets real cold in the gym.
In the summer you have nats, moths, and mosquitos, that get into the gym from the windows being left open overnight. It was real scary during the West Nile Virus years. Thats when I had enough, after being bite by a mosiquito in the gym.
This is the only gym I know that the members are allowed to open the windows at the inconvienents of others.
I wouldnt recommend this gym to the serious workout person.
